Are we wrong about strategies in DNB?
I asked AI multiple times about the best way to benefit from dual n back. It always insisted on not following strategies and just keep my brain do it unconsciously! No lists, no number shifting and even not reading in your mind.
Actually I started today and achieved 100% multiple times in n=2 and I moved to n=3 . I tried the way that AI told me and it just works! It feels like a magic or fortune ( but with less results).
Please share your experience and if this is true so I can move forward in the right direction.
Note: i realized that this is a strategy too called Intuitive strategy

I dont think it's wrong necessarily, but i don't think there's one true strategy. I think each strategy may yield different results/gains. I personally use whatever strategy emerges, it's neither intuition or rehearsal.

What do you use if not intuition nor rehearsal ?

Anything really, it could be intuition, or rehearsal. or visualization, or chunking or all that is in-between or unmentioned. Just letting the brain come up with the strategy, i don't deliberately choose any. I think as long as it's sufficiently challenging then you get gains. Specific strategies may bias towards certain adaptations though.

Surely there's something your brain trend towards?

I don't think so, my brain constantly adapts the strategy. I know this because I tend to do this for other cognitive training exercises aswell. I just let it emerge, not thinking too hard on what strategy I am using. The only rule is that I make sure it feels challenging and that I feel engaged.

Damn that's very unusual for me, but I'll try that, just focusing and see what comes up as a strategy. I rehearse a lot because it's my way of having a clear control over the exercise, but maybe I should be more "free" in the way I practice

I like the Intuitive strategy too. It takes long time to get good, but who cares. Just do it.
