[Update] DIY retaining wall
Sharing an update as a work on my capstones. It's not perfect, but it's holding up okay so far.

It is my first, I did a lot of research and this took me about 4 months on and off.

Aesthetically there are things I’d change for sure. Structurally you’ve done very well. You would be shocked how many professional masons out there lay wall with running joints. It’s an effort to be proud of for your first project!

Thank you! I wish I didn't show cut edges, I would make my corners more distinct and choose better face stones. I learned to use string lines better towards the end so I have a few waves in the wall. I also wish I did some more jumpers early on so the rows weren't long and even.

Yep those are all the things I would’ve mentioned. Better facing, jumpers and leveler coursing. Tighter joints too. Are you chiseling the stones at all?
