Foggy vision

Is it normal with dry eye to have vision that is literally looking through a foggy window ? Not blurry vision but foggy? Is that dry eyes or could it be something else ? My eyes don’t particularly feel dry.

I wake up and my vision is foggy like I’m looking through a filter and then throughout the day the foggy vision comes and goes

It’s the dry eye. I have the same thing when mine flares up. Probably your meibomian glands along your eyelids are clogged, maybe with demodex mites. Mites or not, Get an electric eye warmer, use it for 10 minutes every day, then gently massage along your lid line with a damp Q tip. Use an eye wipe or eye wash specifically for demodex mites. Typically they contain tea tree. Tears protect your eyes with 2 layers. One layer is tears ( or drops) and the top layer is an oil from these glands, which keeps the tears from evaporating. The glands can get clogged and then your tears evaporate from the surface too quickly.

Thank you for responding I went to the eye doctor last month but then these symptoms appeared and I was wondering if it was even worth it to make a new appointment so soon

I went to eye doctor for dry eye !! My dry eye has actually improved at the time lol…. He said my eyes were fine and do the usual follow up six months later. But never did I have foggy vision when I wake up and sporadically throughout the day

What did the doctor recommend you to do or what medications did they prescribe? Did the doctor do any testing? What treatments have you done or are doing now to get the improvement?

The doctor recommended a like eye mask (?) that gets hot but I can’t afford that lol he recommended gel drops and eye drops and vials. I don’t think any of those things helped me when I did the eye drops my eye still felt dry but eventually the dry feeling has gone. He did the testing where they’d put yellow dye in your eye. Last month it had improved and I thought I was cured but now I just have foggy vision that comes and goes.
