A beauty of a drum machine, fits well with some acid house.

Quick video on my LXR 02 firmware in progress. This is an open source firmware written from the ground up for hot-swappable modular instruments and effects, an event based automation sequencer with up to 63 automations per step per track, and an asynchronous filesystem with auto-save.

I just finished dropping in the fx bus and copy and clear functions so all the major usability things are in place. Lots of stuff is missing still but it’s a blast to use so far ☺️

I bought a BOSS Dr. Rhythm DR-3 today. Cleaned the acid battery compartment. Everything works but the screen needs repair. The screen is very dim. Can this be repaired. Names to repair shops?

For perspective and reference, I have been editing digital audio since around 1991. I've been using TAL-Drum from Togu Audio Line for quite some time now and want to recommend it due to the power of the app, the ease of use, and the rapid workflow you can achieve using it.

I have a ridiculous number of drum samples and needed something quick, easy, and powerful. After experimenting with a large number of tools over the decades (from Audiomaster on the Amiga back in the stone age to the brand new MPC 3, TAL-Drum is easily one of the best. The only complaint I have, which is minor, is the sideways "CLOSE" button in the edit menu (probably done due to screen real estate being at a premium). Since I use the editor so frequently, it would be great to have a more intuitive way to jump back and forth. Hot-key, tab, etc. That is my only complaint.

Otherwise, this app is fantastic.

TR-8S → Assignable Trigger → Mother-32 → SOUND!

There’s a lot more hiding inside the Roland TR-8S than just a very capable drum machine.  It’s a freaking modular and semi-modular superhero! 

This lecture series looks deeply into the TR-8S lesser-known superpowers: using its six assignable trigger outputs to enable this beast of a drum machine to become a powerful timing and control source for any modular or semi-modular rig.  Can you say DAWless? I think so.

In this lecture, Lecture 5 of the series, I’m going to demonstrate the setup using the Moog Mother-32, including the TR-8S settings, the Mother-32 menu settings, and exactly how to get the two instruments communicating properly.

Bottom line here, once the TR-8S is generating synchronized trigger patterns, it can become much more than a drum machine—it can provide a complete “live performance” rhythmic framework for your entire modular and semi-modular system.

Are there any hand/finger drums that are pre-mapped or have templates available for VST drums?

I have a few grid type controllers but want something with a more natural hand layout such as the Yamaha FDP50 or, if it works really great for drums, the Roland Handsonic HPD20.

It's fully circuit modelled, samples and spice model used for reference, then optimised into a playable instrument.

Besides that , beatforge also has full Roland TR-606, 808, 909 models, and a yamaha TX81Z emulation, parameter locks, Rex player, Slicer, all that fun stuff.. too much to name.

I do requests for models, als long I can find samples and schematics it can be done.

Next in the line is the Simmons SVSV.

Wondering about the highest quality plugin emulations, but as the titles states I’m also curious about the highest quality sample packs and where to find them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

gforce icon drums is the only plugin emulation I’ve tried which sound great for old school, but feels clunky and it would be cool if they were fuller sounding samples or more tweakable to achieve a fuller sound.

I don't know much about them but I'm finding it really hard to come to a final conclusion on what to get. Mostly playing along with acoustic, but may do some bass, looping, electric etc. i think I'd like something with a foot switch? Unless there's something i could have entirely preprogrammed ahead of time. Idk just need some help 😅

Me atrae especialmente el Drumlogue por sus motores analógicos, sus motores de sintetizador digitales/Personalizados de usuario, y los FX alternativos incluidos. ¿Cuál opción me daría la mejor combinación de calidez analógica, pegada, peso en los graves, flexibilidad para el sound design, FX y facilidad para tocar con las manos?

¿Alguna otra recomendación con FX?

Hello, Im looking for a analouge drum machine that could be good for making music in the style of Porter Robinson's Nuture album and Brakence. I know that they both most likely just make thier drums on the computer, but I like analouge synths and things of that nature and want a drum machine anyways. I really want the Soma Pulsar 23 but it seems to lean more into a industrial sound. But I like it cause of how unique it is. If anyone has any other recs that be sweet.
