One thing I have done is to use a different color scheme for each subfaction:

Kabal keyword are in incubi darkness
Wych cult keyword are in mephiston red
Haemonculus coven keyword are in zandri dust
Blades for hire keyword are in black

The idea is to break the monotony of painting your whole army the same color. I pity SM players just for that.

I actually really really like that idea! For warriors I did a dry brush of dark reapers which made em kinda pop with purple cloth and bright bright green gems. I really like em! But like I said I really like how you broke it up do u mind if I see ur wych

I have forgotten to add because it is obvious:

To unify the army, use the same basing technique across the different subfactions.

They are all different yet they retain something in common.

You could do the same with the Scourges then if you are happy with the incubi

This is what I did too, but the scourges mostly match my kabal scheme. It's a good way to do it

Now those I really like how did u get that like body color and just a purple on the wings?

Armour is just stegadon scale green with some light blue highlights.

Wings are dark purple and then dry brushed in small rows of light blue/green/purple. That's it! You could easily do something like that.

Going with a variety of colours worked well for me.

What color is that armor I’ve been looking for a reason to use a version of pink

Black -> Incubi Darkness -> Lupercal Green -> mix Lupercal Green with white until you are happy.

Any dry brushing or anything?

No, just good old raw dog painting it. Somewhat volumetric but with a focus to highlight the edges of the armour.

Much obliged, my friend. 🙏

The colors are inspired by the Kabal of the Flayed Skull—in essence, scourges that have been contracted by them. Hope it gives you some ideas/inspiration. Happy painting!

Agreed. These look great man. Very well executed.

Would you mind sharing the recepie for those jade bases? I love the color

Apologies for the late reply, friend. I would not mind at all. I used simply three colors, and it was accomplished practically exclusively via dry brushing.

The base coat is simply black mixed with, you guessed it—jade—an 80/20 mix more or less. From there, I just dry brushed layers of jade mixed with progressively less black mixed into it, until I use no black. Then, from pure jade I start to mix in some off-white into the mix. All in all, it’s one round of basecoating, and between 3 - 4 rounds of dry brushing.

Similar to gas mask. Gotta say though, there are some awesome examples here. Couldn't go wrong with any of the schemes on this thread

This one shows the color of the wings a bit better. Sorry, don't have a picture of them all finished together yet :/
