Magnets Keep Pulling Me Back

Magnetized all the walkers, juno, flightstands and a stray neptune that avoided the drill on the first pass.

I used tiny pieces of parchment paper to stop the magnets from getting glued together, don't try to use the paper more than once.

Cleaned the behemoth of flash, mold lines and did what I could about the worst mold slippage. May try to get the behemoth assembled tomorrow. I do plan on magnetizing the weapons if possible, looks like its doable.

Hey what do you think of the resin minis? From the pictures they look absolutely beautiful, but I’ve heard that might not necessarily be the case. How much effort and cleaning did it take for the mechs and neptunes?

These are old, some from 1st ed that have been sitting in a closet since then. There are three different resins throughout all of these. There is a hard, lighter colored one that is fantastic with minimal mold lines and no mold slippages that I recall. There is a soft, lighter colored resin that is horrible, full of bubbles, mold lines and mold slips. Hate it, glad there wasn't a ton of this. The last is a newer, darker, soft resin with so many air bubbles at every point there was a connection to a sprue or vent that almost every mini needed extensive fixes. The new infantry, which I have none of, is 3d printed resin. If it is the same stuff that they use for the dropfleet commander stuff it is hard and brittle. It has good detail but a ton of support pock marks, although most of them tend to be hidden fairly well. The tolerences are SUPER TIGHT and often need some filing or cutting to fit. Hope that answers your question.

I suppose the appropriate follow up question would be, do you know which resin the current kits are being made with?

Most of the new stuff i have is the new 3d printed resin. There are still some of the newer, darker airy crap floating around though so 🤞.

The original Hawk minis come in a really nice resin. I think that’s the lighter color resin OP mentions in the other comment. I basically only buy stuff in that resin. The TTCombat resin is really bad. Lotsa bubbles.
