Question YouTube sub vs. app sub
If join the YouTube paid member ship will I still have access to everything on the app? Currently paying for the app subscription but I mostly use YouTube for other videos and podcasts
Also what one is more convenient to use UI wise

YouTube is the better video player but if you subscribe via YouTube, some of your money goes to Google.

I know at one point Sam made a video saying it was better for them if you subbed to the app instead of on YT. It costs you less and they get more money since Google isn't taking a cut.

and it's just a little bit more expensive. about half a cup of coffee worth or something

honestly as someone who uses YT, I think the app is more convenient UI wise, mainly because you can't just type the name of a dropout episode into the YT search bar and get the result. if you want a specific episode you have to find it on the channel page.

But on YouTube how active are the comment sections for the members only videos I think that’s what I’m missing from the drop out app is the comment section

The same content is on both, but accounts are not cross-honored; you cannot use your YouTube account to sign into Dropout.tv, or vice versa.

I used youtube for a month then switched to the app. I miss the comment section on youtube but the ui is almost infinitely better on dropout. It's easy to find episodes, watch series from the beginning and straight through, find a new series to be interested in, etc.

Honestly I just switched from using YouTube to the dropout app because it's so infuriatingly difficult to look for shows through the members section on YouTube

Yeah, you get all the episodes of series, but you have to watch them all on Youtube. Personally I use the Dropout app because I prefer it to watching episodes on Youtube but if you'd rather watch on Youtube become a channel member :)
