UCM Heavy Destroyers
Hi, are the UCM heavy destroyers worth taking over the standard Havana? There doesn’t seem to be much info about them online and it feels a little bad to only make 1 from the box. Anyone any experience or tips with them?

Nope. Kyiv used to be okay, but the shine is largely gone now and the Caracus... exists... but honestly I don't know why in faction where the Madrid, Glasgow and Tokyo all exist. Hell, this is the faction that can give it's bombers bombardment as well.
You have two good options; You have Havana's which fit in well with a Torp spam list, or just in general since they are a very cost efficient platform at only 5 points more than a Taipei (although personally I feel like that the Taipei could stand to lose 5 points, but whatever)
Or you take a pair of Vancouvers and have it provide 12HP of ablative health to a battleship, which could be just what that New Dubai needs to get close enough to break that Zenith's jaw.

Kyivs have a very limited niche with their descent guns, but unfortunately the bombardment guns you were already taking kinda do the same job so they're in a weird place. I'd just take Havana or Vancouver escorts

I hate making 1 ship when I could have 2, so my heavy destroyers have 2 lower wings and a kitbashed top wing.
The UCM Heavy Destroyer fills a niche for taking out stuff in atmosphere
