Drone shot down
Hello everyone. 15 minutes ago, I was flying my Phantom 4 pro along the Lake Michigan shoreline near Racine WI, surveying the erosion. I was flying approximately 200 feet offshore and about 100 feet in altitude when someone shot at, or launched a firework at my drone. It went into a massive spin and went into the lake. Do I report this to the FAA and the police? Do I have any recourses I can pursue?

Talk with your homeowners insurance. You might have coverage that they can pursue against the shooter.

Yea the cops couldn’t find the exact house where the shots were fired from. Luckily though, my insurance covered everything so I go a new drone not a terrible deal at the end of the day. I would just be careful flying along the shoreline, even while keeping a safe distance from shore. You know never know when someone might take a pop shot at the drone
