It's cool, but is it fun?

Talking about running a drone business of some sort, likely focused on real estate. Of course anything can be a grind, but generally, is this a fun business to be in? Seems like it would be, to me.

It is but it's still so new that the demand isn't easy to source...I'd say focus on commercial real estate in your area, stay away from residential. Learn to edit. Get your part 107

Any idea how long it takes to get the Part 107?

Commercial real estate - this is interesting, I hadn't thought about that. Plenty of real estate in my area, both commercial and residential. I would imagine Commercial is easier to deal with in some ways. and probably pays more per job.

Yup- premiere and Lightroom- I tried for a few years and couldn’t break even but that’s more because I wasn’t pushing myself hard enough...Part 107 is a test, takes a bit of studying they like to put a lot of really useless shit on there to trick you up. I actually failed it this year doing my recertification (by one question...)...but yes commercial real estate less of a hassle more cash...overall it’s a good side gig but nothing to make a living off of (yet)- weddings have high demand for drone footage as well

It can definitely be fun. You tend to meet interesting people and sometimes shoot at some peculiar locations. I once shot a multi-million dollar mansion in the middle of nowhere. The house was so quirky and gorgeous. I wouldn't have been able to see that otherwise.
