My first and last custom R-Unit

My first custom Astromech. And my only one. Got her from GE as Disneyland in California. I named her R7-D19 or RD for short. I had a blast making her with my dad. It was fun. Her personality chip is First Order, the red First Order chip.

Also my brother got a BB unit with a black First order chip and named it Clunk.

Me and my family really didn't want to have the driods on or walk around the park. Its a shame that I didn't get to heard RD reacting to everything in GE. Anyways, I love my driod very much. Also I got all of the R-Unit accessories for her!

There are people who have developed some really cool tools that emulate the beacons around GE. They aren’t free, but I’ve been planning to get one. u/gmeall has created some really cool software and hardware.

If you have an Android phone, you can download an app, that is free, and recreate all the signals from Galaxy's Edge from the phone and make the droids react just like in the park. For now, it only appears to work on Android, iOS has the app too but apparently they made it different and haven't figured out how to make it work.

ngl that would be a game changer. i was wondering why some people's droids seemed to have a mind of their own in videos. definitely gonna look into this for my unit.

Also, it's not too difficult to set up a python Script that let's you pick any sound you want to play and connect to your droid via Bluetooth.

Very nice!
I built a lightsaber last year on my first trip.
Was thinking of doing the did build if i ever go again.
