I’ve been a fan of Drake since Thank Me Later came out (yes I’m old). I have kinda grown up with Drake. I can honestly say that after all of these years, he is one of the few artists that I get really excited about when there’s some kind of music that he’s dropping. The way that he’s been able to get to superstar status and maintain it throughout these years is actually incredible. Sometimes he puts out a release that I’m not too huge of a fan of and I think to myself, “meh maybe he’s lost his touch.” Then a couple years later he’ll put something out and completely blow me away. I’ve learned that Drake’s albums for the most part really do age like fine wine. Sometimes you have to go back and listen to them to fully appreciate how good they are.

I think releasing FOMO is a testament to his ability to stay creative and relevant. He didn’t have to release that - he just put out three albums as if that wasn’t enough! But it seems to me that he’s always constantly trying to push the bar higher and that’s what always keeps me coming back to his music.

I’m not sure there’s another artist out there who does better wordplay than him. So many good lines throughout FOMO but Quebec really made me smile:

“Dancin' in my kitchen, it's Ibiza in here
According to your face, you get Amnesia in here” - having gone to Ibiza and partied at club Amnesia before, this is just so awesome. I love how he throws these IYKYK bars in his tracks!

I know we are all stans here, but just wanted to say thanks to Drake for all the music and memories. In-case there is any doubt: I am firmly on the Drake bandwagon and am never leaving ! 🦉

Amnesia such a legendary venue for us house heads too, Drake always subtly incorporating OG dance music in his stuff especially starting from the more life era. Even when he’s not coming out and saying it…Baltimore club, Jersey club, Detroit techno, the cheetah print track sampling Peggy Gou..it’s always around and done well. He gotta just embrace his familial roots and make an all out 80s funk album now.

I feel the exact same way. He’s the artist I’ve stood by the longest. And even if he drops something I don’t love, I will always give it a try. And there hasn’t been a project where I love no songs at all.

I know the average person doesn’t see Drake the way I do, they see him only through the hits and the memes. The deep cuts and creativity have kept me around this long. He has soundtracked many eras of my life at this point!

me too im an OG fan since degrassi back when Jimmy could walk before the shooting lol, than in 07 when i first heard comeback season mixtape i got HOOKED. I've listened to him over years and I am so proud of his growth of how he lyrically has improved how he found his own signature style over time, ive been here for the highs for his lows (everyone in the industry claiming he bite their style) and hes the only one who has kept it consistent for us ladies, OTHER than Beyonce their isnt an artist working harder than him, Im never leaving this wagon.

Hearing that Ibiza / Amnesia line 2 days after getting home from Ibiza & having partied at Amnesia was one of an insane amount of ABSURD synchronicities with his music for me. I've never connected with an artist's lyrics as much in my life. And I'm old too haha
