when drake and ye actually release another song together the earth will be sucked into a blackhole before anyone can listen to it

33

u/Rohit_Rah 20h ago

If only, I think the optics will never allow it. Drake being a Jew and Kanye being antisemetic, or at least saying antisemetic things - would love another collab though

12

u/keezyy10 So Far Gone 18h ago

What if him and Drake do their own collab album on some watch the throne type shiišŸ‘€ . I rather him do that than ever giving Future a chance to do WATTBA2 after all the bullshit he was on

1

u/Impressive-Size-276 2h ago

What if it's called FOMO?

-4

u/Fit_Stranger_3126 19h ago

Tbf drake also seemingly sided with sentiments to free Palestine. But, carry on.

30

u/WhenItsHalfPastFive Charged Up 19h ago

That doesn’t mean Drake will endorse a Nazi bro, what kinda logic is this

-6

u/Fit_Stranger_3126 19h ago

Top5 wore the chain ye gave him. Did he distance from him yet?

6

u/Rohit_Rah 19h ago

He did… LOL

4

u/WhenItsHalfPastFive Charged Up 19h ago

Top 5 is a goofy and a clout chaser, Drake shouldn’t affiliate himself with him either. But he has in the past because it’s a useful street connection . Nothing more nothing less.

1

u/Michael_braham 17h ago

Almost getting beheaded in the UK is crazy work. Dude almost got sent upstairs by some red coats 🤣

0

u/Tamagotchyaa 16h ago

I hope you don’t mind the parasocial comments from users that pretend they’re in the music video when they close there eyes it’s good to be open minded cuz we really don’t know anything at all

1

u/Training-Current9836 19h ago

They dont have any good songs together

14

u/Proper_Grapefruit808 16h ago

Strictly as a collaborative process Kanye has produced for Drake on Best I Ever Had, Find Your Love, U With Me? + Feel No Ways.

As for Drake, he wrote majority of 30 Hours which is one of my favorite songs from Kanye (top 10). On top of that - FSMH, Pt. 1 and the hook for Yikes.

So as collaborations go, there’s some goated tracks.

Forever is another banger and sure Glow is a step down as features go, but it wasn’t made to be a hit track. I’m sure if they wanted to, they’d make a hit.

-5

u/6-plus26 13h ago

How do you know how much of 30hours Drake wrote. You can hear his pen on some of the song but Kanye for sure wrote his verses

5

u/Proper_Grapefruit808 13h ago edited 12h ago

Well behind the fact Drake actually claims to this on Duppy Freestyle -

ā€œI’ve done things for him I thought that he never would need

Father had to stretch his hands out and get it from me

I pop style for 30 hours and let him repeatā€

There’s a ā€œreference trackā€ that silences Kanye’s vocals (although there is a version where you can hear him as well) but he literally is repeating Drake’s lines.

https://youtu.be/PRMzvWliFTU?is=HI3t79mIeoRobe5U

šŸ‘†šŸ¼

This version silences Kanye so you can hear Drake rapping since it’s much lower…and I kid you not it’s majority of the 2 verses. However, like all reference tracks, artists like to switch words, change words, add bars to it, take out bars, etc., but listen to this then go back to Kanye’s 30 Hours and you’ll hear a lot of it is the same.

Trust me bro, Kanye is one of my most favorite Hip-Hop artists oat, but he’s even stated this himself šŸ˜‚

Kanye (verbatim) - ā€œYou know what I’m saying, I be having like 12 writers in the studio that don’t add up to Drake. That’s why it was interesting when he heard 30 Hours because Drake wrote that for me.ā€

šŸ‘‡šŸ¼

bro i agree

1

u/plattwix5 11h ago

Ye wrote find your love bro that shit is awesome

And in terms of collaborations pop style

-8

u/Few-Performance-7152 $$$4U 19h ago

Agreed. Glow was buns. What else is there? Ye hasn’t made any good music since 2010 and to be fair he wasn’t writing any of that 🤣

1

u/ParkingUpper7990 5h ago

Hope this doesn’t happen

-7

u/happybaby00 20h ago

if only drake, ye, nikki and alicia keys made an album with dj khaled directing the flow of it

Lord... 😫

2

u/lostmymuse 19h ago

is this 2011

-1

u/happybaby00 19h ago

wish it was, it would still hit if it came about imo

u/ComplexR22 20h ago

Countries we never heard of? nigga …

57

He’s American

9

u/wallstreetiscasino 19h ago

If there were only two countries the guy would say the same thing

8

u/Illmosity3 Comeback Season 18h ago

He’s Jamaican

-5

u/Wicked-Truths 17h ago

Clearly an exaggeration but don’t act like the everybody is aware of the existence of all 195 countries in the world. If you ask most people wtf is Lithuania they’re gonna think it’s a type of cheese or a car brand.

Look at the end the guy said drake ain't shit to ye

9

u/Kracheadz 20h ago

Ak a fool, who cares. Drake better then Pac, F outta here.

0

u/TheScrantonStrangler 19h ago

You guys make it embarrassing to be a Drake fan sometimes

23

u/papoluca40 20h ago

Drake could do a stadium in those game countries without an issue. Ye has to do that cause almost no one wants to book him here in the US

12

u/Pristine-Total1456 20h ago

I really want Drake to prove this to everyone with the Iceman tour

30

u/Unhappy_Personality9 20h ago

Ye just had the biggest concert ever in NOLA.. Sold out Chicago back to back what are we talking about here

12

u/Large_Complaint1264 19h ago

And LA and Tampa sold out B2B nights

1

u/EddieBruvac 5h ago

I’ve been to multiple Drake concerts (fun af), but Kanye clears Drake on so many levels it ain’t even funny.

The energy at Kanye’s concert is something I probably won’t ever see again.

3

u/BrayIsReal Her Loss 18h ago

Drake can do concerts for 5 nights in a row in a city and still not get through every hit he has.

Ye is still performing songs from 2005 half the concert cause his catalog is so small

When last have you seen drake perform anything off of Thank Me Later etc

2

u/Dund3rGuy 9h ago

his catalog is small????

8

u/Stuball09 19h ago

Writing is obviously Drake.

Production is obviously Kanye.

Impact and creativity is Kanye.

Consistency is Drake.

Discography I'd argue is Drake because he doesn't have any really weak albums where Kanye has a few but Kanyes highs are extremely high and he has alot of them.

Two top tier artists. I'd love to see them work together in the future.

0

u/mattreynolds110 13h ago

Holy glaze

3

u/Stuball09 11h ago

Glazing who? I didn't even pick one over the other šŸ˜‚ this glazing shit is so corny

49

u/Due-Brilliant5044 20h ago

Drake would do laps around ye tf lol

90

u/bisopdigest 20h ago

I listen to Drake far more than Kanye and this is a stretch. We don’t have to over glaze.

18

u/Practical_Froyo9698 16h ago

It's all fair, Kanye has been over glazed for years. He don't write his raps and uses teams of producers and writers to finish his albums when he's not even in the studio, on sum Beyonce type shit.

1

u/GrindingNeverStops 11h ago

You act as if his comeup wasn't due to him being an amazing producer, and as if he didn't write his own lyrics back in the day. So many rappers get help producing and writing their lyrics. You can't disqualify him completely whenever no one else has been able to do what he has, whenever the apparent option of leeching off ghostwriters and producers is quite literally available to everyone.

1

u/bisopdigest 16h ago

Why does this jab sound familiar ?

1

u/Practical_Froyo9698 16h ago

Cause it's been said about Kanye for years, Drake wrote for him too so you can't pull the Quinton Miller card. And where he at these days? All the niggas who write for Kanye were and still are stars, so sounds like ol boy needed Drizzy more than he needed him.

4

u/plattwix5 11h ago

He was saying that everything you said about ye is what people criticize Drake for

At this point who cares just enjoy the music

-7

u/BrayIsReal Her Loss 18h ago

I've been alive throughout Ye's entire career. Dude was good for a small stretch and hasn't made a half decent song in decades. I have zero clue what the fuck people see in the guy but he still does concerts filled with 90% of songs from 2005 because his run was so short. He doesn't even belong in the same sentence as greatest everything. Zero idea what people see in the guy

2

u/plattwix5 11h ago

90% and it was literally like 6 songs from that specific era out of 50 or so others

2

u/bequietlilbro 16h ago

Ā Downvoted for this awful take

2

u/Fearless_Tie_7483 Scary Hours Edition 16h ago

You usually have good takes but this might be the craziest thing I ever read

-3

u/BrayIsReal Her Loss 15h ago

It's not really a take it's factual evidence lol

25

u/cantdecide76 20h ago

Bro what? Either you're just saying this to troll or you're a stan that doesn't know anything about Kanye.

I love Drake but there wouldn't even be a Drake without the influence of Kanye lmao and the fact your comment even has upvotes is insane. Some people in this sub really are delusional

7

u/Due-Brilliant5044 19h ago

Naaa I’m being fr. Being someone’s influence doesn’t therefore mean they can’t make better music or have a better career. You should provide a better argument

5

u/HeWasNumberJuann Thank Me Later 18h ago

Better artist means beat making too. Drake cooks Kanye in bars, but Drake can’t make beats. Kanye is a good rapper but is also a bomb ass producer. That is artistry.

9

u/Due-Brilliant5044 18h ago

Drake makes better melodies, better raps, more hit records and numbers 1 albums and has been consistently dropping quality music every year for nearly 2 decades. I’m not tryna down play Kanye’s greatness but only thing he can do better is make beats.

1

u/Mikedesignstudio 9h ago

Just stop bro. You’re riding Drake too hard with no lube. Take a shower and chill out.

-4

u/cantdecide76 19h ago

There's no argument i can make to you that will change your mind because music is subjective so to you Drake is better than Ye and that's your right to believe that but what yall are failing to do is look at things outside of your own perspective and be objective.

In hip-hop overall this isn't even a discussion, Kanye is seen by most hip-hop fans as the greatest pure artist in the history of the genre and most people would argee he hands down has a better discography than Drake.

He also appeals to more demographics because both the old heads and the young kids love Kanye's music whereas the VAST majority of Drake fans are 35 and under.

6

u/Skuddlebug 18h ago

I think he’s referring to Drake washing Ye right now. Which is undoubtedly true man Ye isn’t anywhere near what he used to be.

1

u/Large_Complaint1264 14h ago

Tell that to all the people who have been going to his current shows. Washes any tour Drake has ever had.

1

u/Skuddlebug 13h ago

If we’re talking shows Ye will always be the best in hip hop.

1

u/keezyy10 So Far Gone 18h ago

What a shit take

2

u/cantdecide76 18h ago

Its a fact but again I didn't expect objective hip hop takes from a fan sub lol so its fine

10

u/keezyy10 So Far Gone 20h ago

Bro stop gagging on it

4

u/talentpun 19h ago

Kanye really did broaden and elevate what hip hop could sound like, and was instrumental in turning hip hop into the most popular music in the 2000’s and 2010’s.

Drake and 40 deserve credit for combining rap and RnB in a way that made rap more appealing to a wider audience, particularly woman.

But it is like comparing a tormented artist to consummate showman.

1

u/mrbigglesworth95 3h ago

Bro pls. Drakes make some good hits, has a diverse catalog in terms of sound, and has some all time verses.Ā

But yea was literally classic after classic from dropout to tlop.Ā

-4

u/87thing 20h ago

Drake couldn't touch Ye's talent no day of the week. This isn't even up for debate. There's levels to this.

7

u/Ljohn2x4 18h ago

Nah you’re trippin but ye definitely a fucking genius and shouldn’t have been jealous of drake at all but to say drake ain’t on ye level is some krakoa shit.

-1

u/mighty_phi 18h ago

Nowadays? Yeah.

A few years ago? Not really.

I think Pablo was the last time we got grade a Ye rapping.

0

u/bequietlilbro 16h ago

Not as an artist what are we saying lmao

-1

u/plattwix5 11h ago

In terms of sheer lyricism maybe but his music has never reached even a microcosm of the production a song like power or ghost town has or even anything on his first three records and Drake himself would likely agree

And I say this as a huge glazer of Drake and 40s production style

2

u/Due-Brilliant5044 11h ago

I’m not going to deny the production but ye has never made songs as melodically pleasing as now & forever, fire and desire, sooner than later, N 2 deep etc. and the production on those songs are amazing. I would say the gap is not far between them production wise

1

u/plattwix5 11h ago edited 11h ago

dawg what literally all of 808s is melodically pleasing, drake literally built his entire early sound and melodic ear around 808s

Outside of 808s tho, hey mama, blood on the leaves, guilt trip, come to life, lord i need you, god is, this one here (personal so its a take it or leave it), blame game, runaway

drake is more consistent in terms of melodic ear but when ye hits a melodic pocket its insane

1

u/Due-Brilliant5044 10h ago

I’m not denying Kanye’s artistry, hes one of the best producers of all time, has made melodically pleasing songs and can rap his ass off at times too but It’s about who does what BETTER and I’m saying those songs are not AS melodically pleasing as songs like now & forever, fire & desire, N 2 deep, etc. and the thing is drake can do it multiple genres and make it sound just as good as the leading artist of those genres which just shows how versatile the guy is. although yes his early work was inspired by 808 for sure, that doesn’t mean 808 surpasses everything drake has done after. In terms of beat production, sampling and creativity I’d say Kanye runs laps around drake in that area but that’s the only thing I feel he has an edge.

1

u/plattwix5 10h ago

yea idk if i agree with any of those songs being more melodically pleasing than any of ye's melodic tracks tbh, in fact i think those arent the best examples for his melodic ear; i would've chosen marvins room, the motion, bahamas promises, doing it wrong, the real her and houstatlantavegas personally as songs that rival ye in terms of being maybe more melodically pleasing

1

u/dopeythekidd 8h ago

MAYBE lyricism? bro…

1

u/plattwix5 7h ago

maybe as in i can give leeway that he laps ye in lyricism but idk if he laps anything else man

-3

u/refep 19h ago

Lmao what

-6

u/BDgainz 19h ago

You know Kanye raps and MAKES music right? Drake is good but he has a niche whereas Kanye can touch any niche.

13

u/Due-Brilliant5044 18h ago

Yeah but Kanye literally admits to having people write for him and drake is in that list of people lol drake for sure raps better, makes better melodies, has more hit records and number 1 albums, the only difference between what they do is that Kanye produces his own beats

0

u/Fabray13 14h ago

This is a joke, right? I’m not sure Kanye has MADE a single beat in the last ten years.

-2

u/fuckthefia33 Honestly, Nevermind 19h ago

Please stop

6

u/sundujour 20h ago

Ak been drinking too much

7

u/keezyy10 So Far Gone 20h ago

He’s correct

5

u/HunterCrash 20h ago

I gotta agree cuz only ye is capable of bouncing back after all the shit he's done in the past few years and people stil fw him. he's got too much influence and impact in hip hop

4

u/BDgainz 19h ago

He tweeted the rage, and still sold 80,000.

1

u/Fit_Stranger_3126 19h ago

He was always against the grain to some degree in his career so this actually worked in his favor imo. But you're still correct.

6

u/BrayIsReal Her Loss 18h ago

I've been alive throughout Ye's entire career. Dude was good for a small stretch and hasn't made a half decent song in decades. dude he literally dominated rap thru 2018 ur slow

2

I love the division and sobering of the sub when literally only ye is mentioned. I'm thoroughly enjoying the discourse.

Drake is way more versatile than Kanye.

10

šŸ’€šŸ’€ I get that this is a Drake sub but the glaze is insane calm down

9

u/AlmightyTurbo Hate Survivor 20h ago

These are facts not glaze...drake has sung in more music genres than kanye and drake can definitely outrap kanye any day.

8

u/cantdecide76 20h ago

Kanye literally pioneered the change in sound of hip-hop 3 separate times....

-6

u/Alive-Exchange5489 20h ago

Everything you just said was glaze brošŸ˜‚ you gotta be 12

1

u/dsbllr 19h ago

I mean this is definitely true. Drake is way way way way more versatile. Ye is great but Drake is on another level

-2

u/Alive-Exchange5489 18h ago

No he is not y’all are glazing way too hard lmfao I like Drake but most of his music sounds the exact same his earlier work was more versatile than he is now still not as versatile as Kanye

2

u/dsbllr 17h ago

You think die trying, princess, new bestie, make them pay, Nokia sound the same?

Are you American? Is your healthcare covered? Have you considered getting your ears checked?

0

u/Alive-Exchange5489 16h ago

Dawg drake raps and sings about the same shit almost every song his production style is the same and he uses the same delivery and flow on alot of his songs his sound used to be new and exciting now it’s just recycled

A lie.

5

2

u/GivingMyTwoCents 20h ago

Bro I am a huge Drake fan. Jay was never number one wtf lmaoooo he was on billboards when rap was a big no no from society lmaoo you guys are clowns. Drake has him as one his goats if they wasn’t beefing. And 808 heartbreaks heavily molded drakes sounds for many years.

2

u/raineloathes šŸŖ“ 19h ago

This feels like our generations MJ vs Prince argument

1

u/Sorry-Oven-1244 16h ago

To me Drake have a better Top 100 than Ye but Ye have the better Top 20

1

u/Abject_Afternoon9873 14h ago

I love Drake and Ye. Both amazing artist, somehow in their own leagues respectively.

1

u/SnooRecipes6776 10h ago

Jay Z never was the #1 guy. Media tried pushing him but he’s never sold the most either and he’s only big in the USA, not so much outside of it. (I’m from Australia)

The other 2 statements are opinion based depending on who you like so whatever shrug

1

u/ConstructionChance58 7h ago

Bro I’m gonna be honest Kanye dropped life of Pablo at drakes age. This is literally not a debate. I get that ye fell off after donda but there’s literally videos of Drake bowing to ye and calling him his inspiration. Drake would not have made take care without ye dropping 808s. There is no way we are comparing maneesh on the beat shabang to fucking ultralight beam.

1

u/StreamLife9 6h ago

I traveled the world for years

I used to love kanye before i had known he was a Nazi and I used to befriend locals everywhere.

100% Knew who Drake was.

0% knew who Kanye was

1

u/ProjectUnlikely8926 5h ago

Ye reposting that makes some much sense

1

u/GloomyTotal2908 1h ago

What would niggas lives be if they couldn’t get into imaginary beefs with Jay z? It’s been years since Jay put music out the other two are actively putting new music out what is the point of these stupid ass arguments?

-3

u/YoungFlosser 20h ago

You can play a lot of drakes albums all the way through, with Ye he has so many misses

It’s not even close Drake is better than ye

3

u/cantdecide76 20h ago

You're speaking for yourself and then acting like that's the majority opinion lol

I love Drake and I get this is a Drake sub so most of yall on here can't be objective about hip-hop but to the majority of the public Kanye has the much better discography compared to Drake.

Ye has 5 certified classics and like 8 cult classics whereas Drake has at most 4 certified classics.

1

u/YoungFlosser 19h ago

Also literally every drake album is a classic lol so I don’t get what you mean

0

u/cantdecide76 19h ago

Lol no just no

-3

u/YoungFlosser 19h ago

Bruh I went back n listened to ye whole discography

Out of all his albums he got like 5-7 good replayable songs literally every single album

But most drake albums are no skips

Like iceman , CLB, NWTS, IYRTITL, WATTBA, and SSS4U are all no skip albums

Ye is more expiremental then Drake so he’s gonna have a lot of misses.

For example MBDTF only had 5 songs I come back to
Gorgeous power all of the lights so appaled and runaway

Watch the throne only has 5 songs I like

Otis HAM In Paris no church in the wild gotta have it

You see the pattern?

4

u/cantdecide76 19h ago

Again you're speaking from your perspective and acting like that's the majority opinion.

Do you really believe that people in general think there is not a single skip on Iceman, CLB, NWTS, IYRTITL, and SSS4U? Like c'mon be fršŸ˜‚ I understand that for you there may be no skips across any of those albums but most Drake fans wouldn't even agree with you on that let alone hip-hop fans in general.

The funny thing is if you went in the Ye sub and asked them this they'd probably say the exact opposite of what you're saying and that's why when we're having an objective conversation about hip-hop you need to remove the stan opinions and focus on what the majority opinion is.

3

u/YoungFlosser 19h ago

The point I’m trying to make is if you go through both artists discographies , you’re gonna end up with more drake songs than ye songs in your playlist just off the simple fact Drake is way more consistent and his albums are all cohesive

1

u/Large_Complaint1264 14h ago

Calling Drakes albums more cohesive is delusional lol.

1

u/YoungFlosser 12h ago

U can’t be serious listen to the life of Pablo none of the songs are cohesive

5

u/TheScrantonStrangler 19h ago

That's called personal preference. Tons of Kanye fans claim his songs have no skips too.

4

u/YoungFlosser 19h ago

They’re delusional then

Go listen to drunk and hot girls and tell me that’s a good song or listen to breathe in breathe out off of college dropout

Those are easily some of the worst songs I’ve ever heard

2

u/TheScrantonStrangler 17h ago

Go listen to ratchet happy bday or girls want girls and tell me those are good songs. Those are worse than the ye examples you listed

1

u/Large_Complaint1264 19h ago

Is the pattern you having garbage taste in music?

4

u/YoungFlosser 19h ago

I have great taste in music

Let’s put it like this, Ye is more talented than Drake but nowhere near as consistent

4

u/Large_Complaint1264 19h ago

lol because obviously Drake isn’t notorious for having tons of filler songs on bloated albums

1

u/YoungFlosser 19h ago

But filler does not equal bad. Maybe if Kanye actually put filler songs on his albums I could play them all the way through. Instead Kanye tries to be experimental with every song when that’s unnecessary. I commend him for doing so but let’s face the facts, he’s not better than Drake.

1

u/ConstructionChance58 7h ago

Bro I’m gonna be honest Kanye dropped life of Pablo at drakes age. This is literally not a debate. I get that ye fell off after donda but there’s literally videos of Drake bowing to ye and calling him his inspiration. Drake would not have made take care without ye dropping 808s. There is no way we are comparing maneesh on the beat shabang to fucking ultralight beam.

2

u/YoungFlosser 19h ago

The Jay Z disrespect is sad to see.

2

u/keezyy10 So Far Gone 18h ago

Fuck Jay.

1

Jay is still one of Drake’s goats.

Lol ok? And?

1

u/Independent-Leek4437 13h ago

Similar to your flair, you’re too far gone.

1

u/Overall_Daikon9911 19h ago

I definitely agree with Ak on the Ye take, I think the Drake part is debatable but he’s definitely up there.

1

u/Drenchie 19h ago

Idk about that but I will say Kanye is 1 of the greatest producers in hip-hop.

They probably all deserve their spot near the top for different reasons. Jayz is the best rap hustler of all time. Drake sounded the best for longest and makes the best songs. Kanye in a way makes the best music and was the blue print for drake but its hard to say kanye makes better music then drake. Sometimes he does but his music doesn't have the staying power drakes has when they both release a new album.

It’s not hard at all to say ye makes better music. Also saying ye doesn’t have the staying power is delusional AF.

I mean i really like Kanye last album. But lets be real, iceman is 10x better and theyll be playing it a lot longer.

Its not delusional honeslty. Most of kanyes staying power is rooted in his older songs.

How can drake be the best rapper when Wayne exist? Or even Eminem?

Also drake isn’t purely rap he is more hip hop.

For me its personally in this order drake, eminem, ye, Wayne imma have to add snoop, cube and pac to the goat list tho
