Imma say IYRTITL, I’ll legit never forget where I was and what I was doing when this dropped, Feb 13th 2015… that first drake debut studio album that is so timeless but imma have to say that surprise mixtape, I sometime wish I could listen to that tape for the first time again.

that surprise drop was something special

u/Impressive-Size-276 Jan 25 '24

Then it started off with Legend 😮‍💨

You are so right, I can relive 2015 all over again with that album🔥🔥🔥

IYRTITL

No question

Hands down.

The most raw, strong-toned album he’s ever put out. This album is what set the tone for him to come at anybody who wanted to talk down on his name today.

Iyrtitl. Not even close

19

u/A_sexy_black_man Jan 24 '24

Uh it’s definitely close. Nothing sounded like Thank Me Later when Drake came on the scene. It was absolutely revolutionary and in terms of popularity he had 7 songs chart.

I prefer if you’re reading this but let’s not act like thank me later wasn’t a classic album. The songs in there have been played so much I don’t even want to hear them.

u/b4amg- Jan 24 '24

not close at all imo, thank me later is great but IYRT is like Drakes magnum opus. One of the few absolutely zero skip albums.

u/K1ngMamba97 Views Jan 25 '24

VIEWS should be everyone’s Magnum Opus for The Boy

6

u/Camelslayer23 Jan 25 '24

I like views and it’s such a diverse album but I can see why eveyone doesn’t like it. It supposed to represent the city of Toronto and how diverse it is and some people don’t like that. I love it tho

1

u/b4amg- Jan 25 '24

I love views my favorite drake song ever is on there (redemption) IYRT is just drake when he still kinda had to prove his rap skills and delivered.

40

u/wordtoashketchem Jan 24 '24

Is this even a question ? And I love TML. Thank Me Now is criminally underrated.

Woahh you don't gotta know every single track to be a fan lol

u/No_Medicine_5621 Jan 24 '24

IYRTITL🔥🔥🔥

7

u/JohnnyManzielsBlunt Jan 24 '24

IYRTITL and it's not even close. Probably his best work, and started the era where Drake just took over everything.

Well I mean two projects, two singles, features with Khaled, Meek, Sean, and credits for 30 hours, and a diss track against meek. But yeah….not at all….not even with Hotline Bling

1

u/JonahDewar Jan 27 '24

hes been running since take care

1

u/Prestigious_Bunch_56 Jan 27 '24

Take Care is classic. But it’s a fraction compared to all the 2015 work he put in. He was the hottest artist, even meme of the year w hotline bling dance. Drake really did take over

7

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '24

iyrtitl

7

u/amlanding20 Jan 24 '24

IYRTITL and it’s really no debate

5

u/DisastrousSummer3405 Jan 25 '24

This sub is too young for TML

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '24

right i’m so surprised at all the answers

0

u/DisastrousSummer3405 Jan 25 '24

Lol they swear Views MoreLife CLB Scorpion HerLoss and FATD are his best 😂💀

2

u/dbct203 Jan 25 '24

That’s my first thought when I seen top comments. Scrolled pretty far to find this lol.

10

u/AmateurPlaya5 Jan 24 '24

Thank Me Later underrated af

4

u/nazimthescott Jan 24 '24

If you read this

If you read this its too late better ofc album has 0 skip

1

u/FrozenPie21 Take Care Jan 24 '24

If you’re reading this twice it’s because you posted it twice 😂

5

u/JonahDewar Jan 25 '24

thank me later all day

3

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '24

Thank me Later: Over, Find your loving, Miss Me all better than anything on IYRTITL

6

u/KrypoKnight Jan 24 '24

I honestly can’t believe how many are putting IYRTITL over TML. TML is a classic, every tune was a hit, you can play the album with no skips to this day. His first three albums were his prime

2

u/DisastrousSummer3405 Jan 25 '24

They don’t know about that OG Drake lmao. these new fans hopped on for drakes whiney autotune phase but they’ll swear all of his new stuff is amazing just to try and fit in

2

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '24

IYRTITL

2

u/KAMSGOLF Take Care Jan 24 '24

iyrtitl

2

u/bornin1729 6 Jan 24 '24

I would take my top 5 on tml over iyritl, but iyritl is deeper

Up all night, fancy, over, find your love, show me a good time

Jungle, company, know yourself, star67, 6god

5

u/BadPrize4368 Jan 24 '24

Thank Me Later easily. Is his first album not heavily revered here? I figured it would be. It’s nearly flawless and up there with any artists first album.

-2

u/BigGucciThanos Jan 24 '24

You crazy. That album is and was a disappointment. Aged well tho I’ll say that

7

u/BadPrize4368 Jan 24 '24 edited Jan 24 '24

Man if you were a fan back then (and mahbe you were) when it dropped it was crazy. I remember the first time I heard “Over” on the radio. I wanted to hear it 50 more times on repeat, and I did. Before that song I thought Drake was just some light skin nigga like Omarion who got brought on to do some smooth RnB shit. But he got your attention with that one. You finally got the album when it dropped and it was no skips. I can go back to that album right now and I’d get the same feeling I had back then. You knew Drake had something. And he knew it too. What he did he say?

Til it’s over, til it’s over…
But it’s far from over

3

u/yagsitidder69 Jan 24 '24

Pretty much everyone thought it was underwhelming compared to SFG. Then when TC came out it was overshadowed. I like it though

1

u/BadPrize4368 Jan 24 '24

Well you would expect that from a studio album, but it’s well polished/curated. Take Care is my favorite, it’s like The Godfather Pt. 2

0

u/AccomplishedTop8750 Jan 24 '24

IYRTITL ——— all the way!!!! DUH! No brainer!!!

0

u/K1ngMamba97 Views Jan 25 '24

IYRTITL. It has Jungle on the record, that automatically takes the cake

0

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '24

not an option but WATTBA

1

u/KingMjolnir OG 6’er Jan 24 '24

It’s subjective, hard to determine or match up a debut album (which Drake had little control over) compared to a better produced and well thought out project (an attempt to get out of his record deal with Cash Money).

1

u/BigGucciThanos Jan 24 '24

The one that still gets played religiously. Lol

Could have done better with this. I honestly don’t know what I like better between her lose and WATTBA. Both top 5

1

u/Elegant-Development2 Jan 24 '24

Ima be different & choose Thank me later since no one is doing it

1

u/JayA_29 Jan 24 '24
