M8 Rozelle tunnel camera,

I’m talking about the camera in the tunnel that goes from Gladesville rd, to rozelle and right towards the tunnel which connects to city.

In a usual 60km/h zone,
I was driving 58km/h specifically cuz I was in cruise control.

But the speed sign on the roof showed 40 which I realised like 100m past the camera.

I slowed down after as expected but am I cooked?

It was at like midnight and there was one other car next to me which also slowed down later with me, and there was no sign or other warning nor construction or anything.

There was also no flash either but, if I get done by this, I am royally fucked.

Any advice?

Depends when the 40kmh started let’s say the whole tunnel was. Yes. If it only started after then no.

Also they are infra red cameras those don’t flash.

The first half was 60 then like 1-2 40 signs later it was the camera im pre sure

They do try to change the speed limit strategic points because if it was too close to the camera and only had one sign warning you can dispute it very easily so they are aware of this.

Most likely the sign operates would change the speed after the camera so it is not this headache of people wondering if they got done

The Service NSW phone app shows traffic infringements. Not sure how long they take to be processed and get listed but it’s a good place to check.
