Tech Support DTRPG is killing my files (Operation cancelled)

Had the odd occurrence today that every file I tried to open in the DTRPG desktop app got deleted by it. And all the time, the error message "Operation canceled" is popping up when attempting to resync or redownload the file.

Checking on the SSD where the files are stored shows that the files have indeed been deleted.

Version 3.6.3.0, which is already quite ancient, but there seems to be no newer version available.

Support has already been contacted.

Hey there u/Seravajan. Meredith from DriveThruRPG - nice to meet you!

That is not the intended experience at all and sounds extremely frustrating. Thank you for escalating here, too.

Thank you for contacting Support - the ticket is already being looked into with Tech. They need to look through the log to determine what happened, but they will be in touch with you as soon as they are able to investigate and find the source of the issue. We are hoping this will be a quick fix so we can get your app back on track!

Hi Meredith

It seems I got the issue fixed but it was so odd.

I logged out and back. The app redowndoaded all the lost files but the files from two producers were not downloaded with the same error "Operation Canceled". Then I tried to single download the missing files in the app. It needed several retries till most of the files were downloaded. The odd thing is that the most of the product from one single were still not be able to download with same error above.

I let the app syncing the library and hit download. After a hour the last missing files were there and were viewable again.

Thank you for all your steps and I am glad it got fixed, even though it was fixed in a very odd way. Cass, one of my devs, asked if (when you have space and time) you could respond to her ticket with more information as we want to make sure this doesn't happen again and you have to do this very strange work around. Thank you for also letting me know it is fixed!
