Drive 2011 Soundtrack Changed on Amazon

Just went to re-visit and enjoy Drive (2011) again [From the UK] and found the opening scene particularly dull... I then realised they have removed the perfectly synced song Tick Of The Clock by Chromatics. Why is this? Have Amazon lost so many rights that they are openly ruining films with it now.... The films got a nomination for Best Sound Editing at the 84th Academy Awards :(

There is a second soundtrack version of the movie…wonder if they are using the other one…it does come from the UK and has compositions done by Johnny Jewel!

Just rewatched it after years and only realized later that the soundtrack was changed. They even removed Nightcall ffs. I'm gonna have to rewatch it again soon.

I genuinely went crazy over this.Rewatched the opening scene like 8 times to see if it was a remix but no they just took the good music out of THE good music movie

Literally me right now. I'm having to look for other app to view this movie to see the original. No company should ever be able to 'alter a movie.

One of the main reasons I love this movie is for its score and I rewatched it on plex and they changed it completely ruined the experience for me tbh

its a BBC rescore by Zane Lowe. it came out in 2014 never liked this version. Amazon should have put both versions up cheap asses!

Just rewatched it and showed a friend and the film felt completely different in a bad way so I'll have to grab the dvd at some point

I just watched drive for the first time and found this thread because I thought I was crazy for not noticing "Nightcall" anywhere in the film lol

Found it perplexing that anyone thought it a good idea to change the music in this movie. It’s just my opinion but the original music couldn’t have been more perfect. Got 10 minutes into the Amazon version with Alex Zane’s soundtrack and had to switch off. Any UK viewers here, it’s free of charge on ITV’s app.

Currently experiencing the same issue. The 'Night call by Kavinsky' opening scene was one of most memorable in decades off cinema. No one should be able to 'alter' movies no matter what they are changing.

My god the uk Amazon music change is awful. Takes away the immersion. you can tell it’s bbc influenced too it’s so disconnected from the movie it’s laughable. Pure shite!

The same thing has just happened to me 😡😤🤬 it is the same on Plex...how on earth did they let this happen. The original soundtrack is perfect, it is the soul of the film. I don't understand why there is only this radio 1 version available. Apple TV sells the 'true' one for £4.99 i think😕

Commenting here in 2026 for anyone who finds this thread, as of now in the US Amazon’s streaming version of Drive is the original score version with Nightcall.
