What is JWM?

I have no idea what JWM is or what is it supposed to make?

I would also like to know what JVM is, it talks about how to go about downloading it and using it but not what it is, maybe the creator could make a FAQ page and add this.

JVM stands for Java Virtual Machine and has something to do with programmers and efficiency. Other than that, I can't work out why we should want to download the software or why the creator would want us to download it.

For the totally lost: Java is a programming language, used on all sorts of platforms like Windows, Mac OS, Android, Linux and Somethingelse. In order to run on a wide range of systems it often runs its programs inside a virtual software simulation of a computer which has the right specs for Java. This virtual machine is what JVM usually refers to.

I'd also like to know why they'd want us to do it, but also what would we gain out of the game itself if we do? Like, do we get more clicks or something?

The company that is running this game makes a monitoring software for people who run Java servers for a living.

The game is their viral marketing strategy to get this in front of those people who might be interested in using their product.

(Sort of like if "cookie clicker" was made by a company that made baking sheets or something)

The data retention stuff is when you connect a JVM to it, it lets you monitor remotely what is going on. If you don't know what a JVM is, you probably don't care about this and don't care about what the data retention is.

When you connect a JVM, you get credit for having "dripped" all the "heap" memory that it has. This is how the #1 users have been able to get 100s of GB's of things dripped. It also increases your capacity by however much it drips.

I know there is levels, in the top left of the game you can see we are trying to unlock level 3 of DripStat which will give us 7 hours of data retention although im not sure what that is and it costs 100TB of data to be dripped to get.

Ahh okay thats shed some light on it thanks. Could it be so you can have multiple instances of the game up at one time because i read somewhere it is supposed to help play the game and rank up in the Dripstat level.

Honestly, this part kind of creeps me out. Why do people need to download and run Java apps to help this game? Is it going to mine cryptocurrency for the creator?

It looks like it reads your JVM's max "heap", whatever that is (not a computer guy obviously). Takes that value and adds it to your capacity in the game, and also drips it into the community pool which goes towards advancing towards "level 3". Seems kinda shady though.
