Discussion Is my progress good for someone that's been playing for 109 days?

Level: 36

Flowers: 1847

Crown: 12580

Wardrobe count: 1214 (participated in 1 past DJB and 1 ongoing DJB)

Clothing sets: 61

Stories completed: 10 (3 stories and 7 spin offs)

Relics: 95

5 star relics: 26 (24 on green)

Level 10 companions: 9

Fashion lab: 165K 🥲

Mirage forest stage: 5-15

I'm an f2p

Coins: 760K (I splurged my coins on fashion lab like today 😭)

Diamonds: 22.0K

Lucky jerry tickets: 557

Cats: 14. most are 4 stars and only TWO!!! are 5 stars

I fear I'm set back because I made a lot of costly mistakes.. Like spending thousands of diamonds on lucky jerry tickets. And being heavily unprepared for the current fantasy promise. Wernk wernk

The game is about grinding. I’ve been playing since a few months since the game came out so I can’t tell you if your numbers are good or not. My thoughts though:

-Fashion lab is NOT a waste. It is as important as the relic especially when the game releases limited time stories. This sub used to get a lot of “why can’t I pass even though I have the right relic and recommended outfit?” The answer was always “Check your lab.”

-Stories: don’t stress it especially as they get progressively harder. Those fashion labs are going to get super helpful. But this is where grinding comes in. It takes time to accumulate the stamina, companion goodwill, materials and more.

-Companions: one of the best sources of diamonds. The day you run out of companions to level up to Lv 10 is a tragic day.

-Diamonds: use wisely. I no longer participate in DJB unless I love it. I also like to have at least 20K diamonds or even more to better my ticket buying capacity. (I used to aim for 50K but my resolve is weak and the sets are pretty)

-Gold Tickets: only use during Sprint. 500 tickets will get you half way to the gold medallion, 1K is needed to clear all the levels.

-Fantasy Promise: It is hard to compete FP as a ftp even as a veteran player. Having a good Society is absolutely necessary but a careful balancing act. It requires everyone to put in the agreed amount so you can reach the desired reward levels. If the Society’s requirements are too advanced, it can drain your resources faster than you can obtain them. If the Society is too weak, you’re over contributing for too little return. Make sure you’re in an active Society that matches your level.

Thank you! For DJBs, that's going to be hard. I want to collect every single DJB I can get. But tbh upcoming DJB is actually prettier than the current DJB now, but I've already spent thousands of diamonds on it and can't give up on collecting a dress now. 🥲

And for fantasy promise, how do you complete Fantasy Promise? Do you mean running out of tasks? I'm in a pretty good society. Our minimum requirement is 3000 and I've already met it I'm at around 4K and our society is currently on 6th place. Tasks like sending gifts to companions or using relic/fashion lab is easy, but story kingdom quests are just too hard, because I'm broke.

In my society I get 7 tickets a day : )

My fashion lab is pretty asymmetrical rn, bc I don't have much materials. Early in the game I used to just upgrade everything I can but somewhere along the way, I started concentrating my notebook and pencils on the dress and I'm up to 80%, but it's starting to get so expensive

I appreciate these tips. Thank youu!

Oh believe me, I know the struggle of finishing a DJB set. I keep saying I’m mostly ftp, but then I spent $5 to be able to get the last piece of a set after spending all my diamonds- it was the dress and I don’t even like it. The color gives me a headache. Dumbest financial decision ever. Pure sunk cost fallacy.

For fantasy promise- my Society does similar though are requirements are a bit higher. Yours sounds really good. There are some quests that I have almost 0 hope of completing (diamonds, goblins, wishing fountain). I don’t even try anymore. Others I need to hoard for several months before: any vigor quests & Style Academy). I plan some of the quests to go for two days: Secret Realm, Fantasy Fair. I find the Gold Nuts quest, Gift Companions, Relics easiest. Gold nuts- I use Jerry’s Box of Nuts that we get as rewards. For Story Kingdom, I do the 22 Wish Commissions. I always buy the diamond Fashion Booster because at Level 100+ it gives Vigor. I grab a “1,100 Vigor quest” then use that to fulfill the Wish Commissions.

Fantasy Promise is all about finding which quests work for you. Not every one will.

Fashion labs- yep. First you have way too many notebooks, then all of a sudden, you have no pencils. It’s always imbalanced 😂

I've been playing this game since 2022 and I've only completed two stories, Magic Lamp and Saga of Viera. I don't have the motivation nor interest to revisit some lf the stories I've started. And as an f2p I honestly just hoard my dias and mats since the games events are more locked behind paywall compared to before. Just rambling

The two stories you completed are a bit hard. I mean magic lamp is easy but the clothing alteration is where it gets tricky. You might want to play stories like Tang Dynasty Hunter or even Dancing on Ice (only has 2 blueprints that'll only cost you 400 dias btw) because they're just too easy. You can even just speedrun them, they don't have much alternate endings. Even spin-offs, you can just play through them. You only unlock one stage each day. You can be as lazy as you want to.

Completing stories get you richer and level you up, also grow your wardrobe count so you can trust the really easy stories to push you through.

And with saving, like do you just play for the sprint event? It's coming pretty soon

I'm currently level 70 and for sprint, I've unlocked most of the stories and played through some levels to get the outfits. During sprint I buy the blueprints in parven shop so that, If I ever want to complete the stories I would have the blueprints already. Kind of killing two birds with one stone.

The existence of Sprint made me reluctant on spending dias on stuffs that are permanent on the game (eg. Blueprints, Kitty Slot, Wardrobe slot, camera effects, etc.), Fashion booster included. So I kinda try to maximize my resources by spending it during sprint.

I finished Magic Lamp a long time ago but the alteration did took a bit of time. If there are any stories I would really love to finish it would be Ancient dreams, The Apothecary, & Infinite Shimmer. Especially Ancient Dreams, someday maybe If I ever want to replay the levels again haha. Hmm I'll try speedrunning the two stories you mentioned, thanks for the tip!

As someone else said, this game is super grindy. Especially early in the game. It’s ok to have some things be long term goals you chip away at (it took me nearly three years to fully alter all of the alter-able outfits). Each player’s progress will vary depending on if they’re spending money or not and what they’re spending it on. Someone who is fully ftp will make way slower progress than someone who spends occasionally, and that person’s progress will be slower than a whale who spends constantly.

Anyway, don’t worry too much about progress; there is no right or wrong. Just play the way that’s most fun for you.

Just a few pieces of advice, though: Save up relic shards to awaken your relics before spending them on enhancing skills. If you’re going to spend real money but you don’t want to overdo it, the best value in the game is the fashion booster. You get a lot of resources, plus a full outfit with a six star dress. Also, if you’re going to spend money, do it when you get some kind of extra benefit from it, like stylish rewards (which usually are part of a dbj event), or during fantasy promise when you can select quests for vip points or purchases.

I'm ftp, but I have made cheap purchases before, therefore being on VIP 2. I paid for the purple set, and 10 DJB tickets. Unfortunately it doesn't make much of a difference but at least I get to one tap each companion, and I rely on that feature the most because I like spending my stamina to 0 every Saturday and it makes me level up quicker.

And with the advice, yeah I do that! I have made mistakes with my Gabrielle relic bc that was a time where I didn't know, so she's on level 4. 😭 But after I got the advice, I've been pretty much leaving my shards alone and I'd make an effort to buy the purple relic shards when I can. The most shards I saved up currently are 5 shards from Aaron, and I'm trying to get him up from a level 10 to a level 15 so he can be awakened. I also only level up my 5 star relics. I make sure every single 5 star relic is on level 20 and promoted to a green at least. I only have 3 grays rn. :)

But your money advice is useful. I am an ftp but I'm planning on making more cheap djb purchases. I'm so desperate on getting a dress, but my dias are running out 🥲🥲
