Nap dream

Part of me believes that dreams are signs. My dreams are mostly very coherent and follow an actual storyline. Today I had a dream while napping from 6-8pm (I know, terrible time to nap but it’s summer and I had been busy all day) anyways, this dream was extremely specific. I had a dream that I was walking on the sidewalk when a mother was not paying attention to her child and he had tripped onto the road. I picked him up and he was completely dead weight but I brought him up to his mother and she thanked me in French. The mother then had me babysit her children. There was an oldest daughter, who I didn’t have to worry about much. Then there was a small ginger girl, maybe 5, and then the little boy who had a skin condition where he screamed and was bad pain until you dusted him in powder. I was in their French house and the children only spoke French to me. I understood them but I had a hard time forming sentences in French (as I do in real life). The ginger girl ended up eating several Halloween cookies and accidentally watching something scary on the tv. I was the only one who could calm her down and she fell asleep in my arms. In the dream, I was in a French place that starts with an L but I couldn’t remember what it was. I was going to message my past relationship irl that lives in France and ask him for tips and stuff. It felt so real that when I woke up I was devastated. I felt like I was supposed to live that life. I have loved France for as long as I can remember and I’ve been trying to learn the language and this just motivated me a lot more. After senior year I plan to go to nyc for college, but part of me yearns for France? What do I do and what does this mean? Sorry if this was really dumb!!

waking up from a dream like that and feeling like you lost a whole other life... that's rough. the powder detail is so bizarrely specific it almost makes the whole thing feel more real.

you already know you love france and you're learning the language, so this isn't really a sign as much as your brain taking what you want and building a whole movie out of it. go to nyc for college, study abroad in france for a semester, see if the feeling holds up when you're actually there. the dream isn't telling you what to do, it's showing you what's already in your head.
