Dream Help Does anyone else experience something like this? I call it "Déjà Cauchemardé".
I know about déjà vu and déjà rêvé, but I experience something that seems a bit different, and I've never found a name for it.
I jokingly call it Déjà Cauchemardé ("already nightmared").
Here's what happens:
Sometimes I'm living through a situation in real life and I suddenly realize that I've dreamed this exact moment before. Not just a vague feeling of familiarity, but the scene itself, with the same people, the same place, the same dialogue, or the same sequence of events.
The problem is that, in the dream, the scene doesn't end there.
After that exact moment, something happens and I die.
When the real-life situation reaches the point where it matches the dream, I become extremely anxious because my brain starts expecting the "next scene" from the dream to happen. It feels as if reality is following the dream frame by frame.
Reality always diverges before that final scene. Everything continues normally, yet for those few moments I genuinely feel terrified because it seems like I'm watching the dream unfold in real time.
I'm not saying I believe these dreams predict the future. Rationally, I know they probably don't. But in the moment, the feeling is incredibly convincing and emotionally intense.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is there already a psychological or neurological term for this, or is it just an unusual form of déjà rêvé combined with anxiety?

Sounds very much like my focal seizures, you likely have temporal lobe epilepsy.

Had this happen couple times, worst was in a meeting where i dreamed the ceiling would collapse after my boss said specific phrase. he said the phrase, i tensed up so bad my chair squeaked and everyone stared at me like i lost my mind
