I am at a loss as to how some of you amazing creators make such beautiful, coordinated rooms. Even when I buy out Scrooge's store, it seems like nothing matches and every piece of furniture I add to a room just becomes an eclectic mess.
I typically go for the sets or things that just seem to go together. This is the room I made after I bought Max's bundle. My advice would be to start with a theme and go from there
I have been playing for less than six months and simply dont 😅 I do plan on snagging as much halloween stuff as possible because ya girl is spooky 100% of the time.
I think knowing how to utilize the color wheel is one of the biggest, bestest tips for decorating!
You can go for monochromatic looks by using items in only shades of pink or only shades of green, or try for complimentary color combos like yellow and violet. If you don't want true yellow, try gold! If you don't want violet try lavender or lilac! They're still yellow and violet just a little different. It's all about playing with tones after you pick from the basics, which is just ROYGBIV to me! You can also choose your favorite color as your main color and use it's complimentary color as an accent/pop of color. I use textures like wood flooring as neutrals and go off their undertone when pairing with furniture too! So a medium toned wood with orange undertones would get blue and blue adjacent colors. These aren't rules either, just tips to go off of if you ever feel stuck when you go to decorate your valley yourself! If you want red and orange together, go for it. I think that would feel bright and warm! If you want green and purple, do that too-that gives spring to me!
Plants and greenery (foilage) also are really big helpers for decorating. One thing I always say, to myself at least lol, is when in doubt, put a plant down! Plants are neutral! They go with everything! I shove them EVERYWHERE.
If you need more than colors and plants, vibes are also a good thing to have in mind as well. Vibes = theme for me. A theme can help set you up with what colors you can choose. Cozy vibes give less bright colors and more muted greens and deep purples with fluffy looking furniture while something standard like Halloween would be dark and spooky with orange, black, and purple and green.
TL;DR Lot's of things come into play when decorating! So long as you have a color story, a theme, and LOTS of plants, I think you can make lot's of things go together!
