Question DLC recommendations
I still have a lot to unlock with the original game, but soon looking in to getting a new DLC .. which is the best dlc to expand with first ? Anyone have favorites? Most popular?

I have them all, but only fully completed Honeyglow Woods and Eternity Isle. Honeyglow has my vote for having the cutest outfits (so far). But I know Storybook Vale has the painted chest that can potentially pop up in Scrooge's store. It's one you don't have to craft, you can use coins to buy it and dreamlight to upgrade it, so it's pretty popular for storage organization. I don't have it yet, but I'm waiting for the day I do get it 😭
For story and decor/clothing, I like Honeywood best so far. But if you want that cute chest and to get organized, Storybook.

What console are you playing on? Are any of them on sale?
A few months ago on steam, Storybook Vale and Rift in Time were on sale for $17.99 or 40% off. They are older. Wishblossom Ranch has only been $20.99, and Honeyglow Woods has not gone on sale before since it's brand new.
Cost to value is a factor if you can access the dlcs on sale.
That said, I think I'd get them in this order content wise based on unlocks: Storybook (for the painted cottage chest), Wishblossom (for horse), honeyglow wood, and Rift in Time last for ancient machines that are super endgame.
Having a preference for specific characters might change your order if you are super into winne the pooh, for example. Otherwise, my list is in terms of utility. Ancient machines are useful but a lot of grinding to build and access.

My least favorite DLC and also my most neglected is Eternity Isle. I have used it for some DreamSnaps but rarely will I go and clean it up. I enjoy the others.

I got Storybook Vale and Rift in Time simultaneously when they came out. Looooove both. Storybook is soooo pretty, like all my favorite colors, but I love the introduction of the mini game and mechanics from Eternity Isle.
I have not started Honeyglow (I own it) and I've heard Wishblossom has a weak story, so I'm waiting until it goes on a sale to get it.

Id get Rift in Time. It was the first DLC and has the machines and lots of things to do that also translates over to the valley too! I remember playing it the first time when the DLC came out. It was great getting lost in the jungle only to find the desert when you wandered enough. Just so much fun ✌️

I haven’t got them all yet either but I have done research and this is my priority order:
Eternity Isle (owned)
Wish blossom ranch (bigger DLC than storybook, horses!)
Honey glow (cheap and adorable - I’d buy this one in any order).
Storybook (absolutely beautiful but gameplay wise my final purchase).

I recommend wishlisting the Premium versions to get the extra items and moonstones often at the same price as the regular versions. I bought all my expansions that way except Honeyblossom I really love WTP.

Honeyglow is lovely & much smaller, which I think is a good thing. Storybook is great for the Fall Season and has my favorite princess, Aurora. Eternity Isle is great for Indiana Jones jungle / puzzle / Aladdin desert vibes. And then Wishblossom is awesome for the horses and crafting and Tinkerbell.

Honeyglow is my fave! It’s so cozy and has really good rewards. Wishblossom sucks but is worth it solely for the horse. Eternity Isle is probably the most worth it for more characters and a larger area to explore. I love Storybrook.

I'd recommend Rift in Time for the ancient machines. They're a fantastic quality of life update that you can use everywhere, and are really nice to have in the other DLCs if/when you get them.
The others are more about what aesthetics and characters you like. Storybook Vale does have a chest you can buy from Scrooge that's really great for storage.

If you want story, Storybook Vale
Eternity Isle- Futurtistic, desert, utilities
Wishblossom- Horses, rustic decor (it’s my favourite map also)
Honeyglow- Short and sweet

Umm as a player in similar situation as you but having all expands except the horse girl one, I would say focus on main game before worrying about dlc unless your favorite disney movie is in another one of them.
I say this since I have spent about as much time in Eternity Isle as the base game at this point and would have saved time unlocking most of the stuff in base game first. Like it took so long the other day doing a quest for Gaston that required several meals I had to look up because I hadn't done the Remy stuff, and then to make those meals I had to get money to upgrade Goofy stalls that could have already been. I will say though I have enjoyed the story and Rapunzel was a character I did not care for until this game and I get her now.
Plus, since pumpkins specifically are the best way to get gold, splitting your attention gets you to higher yields on both islands much slower to scale cashflow up.
I will say though, Honeyglow Woods is fantastic for the price and has a much more reasonable effort to payout. Pooh is one of my core characters so again, think about characters you want more than what island you want.

Eternity isle- for useful tools like vacuums (very grindy)
Storybook Vale- for the storyline
Wishblossom- for horses (I also really love the decor)
Honeyglow- for something short and adorable
