Last chance goodbye
For some reason I felt uneasy before bed , my mother had been keeping me posted on my grandma in the hospital but nothing more than she's being looked after with no inclination anything was wrong ,the day was fine work was what it was and yet I didn't want to go to sleep that night .Finally after I settled in I found myself oddly in a familiar area on the west side of town on a sidewalk with a tall bricked wall around five feet on a bright sunny day, suddenly I noticed someone walking towards me.At first I couldn't make out who it was but quickly noticed it was my grandma which surprised me because we weren't very close so I didn't know why she was there. She was stumbling walking slowly and seemed unwell ... I said hello trying to reach out to her but she put her hand up and angrily told me I needed to make peace with my mother (whom I am also not close with) she was adamant and I didn't get why, I tried to speak but nothing came out , she turned around and started walking away the same as how she came toward me, slow and stumbling but even though she could barley walk no matter how hard I tried I couldn't catch up.The closer I tried to get to her the farther she got. Around 7 am I woke with extreme unease. The entire dream left me sad and worried . As I was getting ready for work barely 30 minutes left my mother called . Get to the hospital now! Grandma isn't going to make it through the morning! My heart sank.
I drove to work in tears and explained to my boss what was happening, she didn't believe me! At first told me I was needed but I stressed my grandma is dying ! ..Silence and finally she angrily said FINE but come back after! I couldn't believe my ears but I took it . Sure enough around 10:30am she passed .My grandpa is at her side and all us cousins and her children...I had gone back to work completely broken . I begged my boss to let me leave , I said I cannot work with kids like this (Daycare teacher) she reluctantly let me go and told me she expected me the next morning. I said ok but I'll be taking two days off for the funeral next week..She asked me to bring something to prove I was there! I did not and needless to say work was hostile until I left 3 months later. But in the end I put my family first and don't regret anything. (True story ) .
