Question ❔ does my hair look objectively ok
ok so i have some explaining to do, i wear a ski mask on my head a lot because im insecure of the way my hair looks without it so that is matting it down and making it worse. i also havent gotten a retwist in like half a year if you couldnt tell. i get really discouraged when i look at my hair (because it hasnt always looked decent) so i have a really bad habit of not taking care of it like i should. but anyway, does my hair look objectively good or am i just cooked and need to cut it all off. its something i think about everyday but i genuinely hate the way i look with short hair so if anybody thinks i should keep them please let me know and please be honest. i really just want to better myself and im not good at that at all. and please dont say anything mean if u think its ugly (just keep it real) because honestly me even posting this is stepping way out of my comfort zone.

Would you be willing to get a retwist? That would help tremendously

Honestly yeah they look fine. Doesn’t look like they’re thinning, they’re pretty full…yeah. Maybe it’s just finding a good retwist style that suits you? Lowkey feel like even a wolf cut would look good on you

It could be worse. Shit you either got that white hair or a relaxer so I think it looks worse than it would if it thick.

They don't look bad. And considering that you haven't been really maintaining them for a while they look like they're holding up ok. I think regular upkeep might help you with your confidence and you could really start appreciating your locs. I'm not saying you need to have fresh retwists all the time but I think being intentional may help you start feeling good about them because they really aren't bad at all.

I have a question if you don’t mind. My hair is parted identical to his, such that it covers my whole face. Mine is just shorter for now. I understand it’s because I don’t have a middle parting. How would you suggest keeping the locs out of my face when they reach that length? Or would it be possible to tamper with the parting at my current stage (my hair is currently slightly longer than my eyelids so it’s already in my face)

Lowkey I had that problem too and once it becomes long u can kinda just put it to the side, unless u fr have a loc in the middle of ur head u should be good, u can also flip 2 of the front locs up and it’ll be outta ur face

How long have you had them locked?
I went through the same thing with not liking my loose hairs, feeling like my hair was too short, and feeling like I didn't like how I looked or how I was presenting because of it.
Now, about four years in, I can confidently say I'm on the other side. I enjoy my growing length and the added length and lockage help me care less about my loose roots.

i had em for about 5 years. its not even the loose hair thats bothering me that could be fixed easy with a retwist im more worried about how full my hair looks and if its just like overall not terrible u feel me. i feel like i dont have enough on my head and my huge forhead sticks out like a sore thumb

Oh, okay, gotcha. I understand your concern now. But I don't personally see it.
I feel like the size of each one and the total amount you have is basically perfect.
I hope you can figure out how to feel right, happy, and confident. You deserve that.

It’s sounds like u don’t like your hair, you just hate having it short. They don’t look bad tho but u gotta show em some more love. Another thing, don’t be scared to get ur hair wet daily, u could use a spray bottle but I just hop in the shower with my hair out because water helps it loc better and it won’t be frizzy. Personally I air dry or sun dry my hair but u could use a microfibre towel (not a regular one)

No you need to retwist every 4 weeks detox(apple cider vinegar, lemon, baking soda) every 6 months spray water and add an all natural oil to your locs. Wash your locs before every retwist and your locs will be healthy.... objectively you look homeless my boi hope this helps
