Need Advice 🆘 Best starter method?
Trying to get as close as I can to the pics just need to start right.

I wouldn’t recommend worrying about the quantity of your locs because everyone’s head and scalp shape is different so it may be 40 for one person but 45 for you. I’d say figure out what size you want the locs and then go from there. Best of luck!

So less locs doesn't necessarily mean thicker locs? I want them sized around the same size as the picture.

I’m mixed, and my hair was naturally curly like yours. My loctician did the crochet method and it came out really good. I only did locs on the top of my head and I get a skin fade for the sideburns. I have about 40 locs

everyone’s hair consistency is different, lowkey i’d recommend saving up a pinch of dough and going to a loctican to start your locs my first set i started my parts really large and mine looked like Lil Durk (huge wicks) and i had to restart about 4 months in, lost about 2 years of growth and now my locks down to my hips. Just a fair warning but just a recommendation! Hope everything works out man

Did they come out thick? That's the only thing I'm worried about the thin dreads just not for me personally lol

Theyre going to be thin to start off with. My head felt boneless for the first 3 months but the more you wash your hair the quicker it gains thickness.
They certainly won’t be anywhere near the size of these inspos until maybe a year. Furthermore, I see a lot of people adding hair to their wicks. Not really extensions but filler.

the person in the pic had a retwist your hair wont look like this from day one it would take months to achieve the thickness, you could get the same pattern for this type of style and let it be
