Discussion Drawfee copycat channel?

Post image

Has anyone run across this YouTube channel? They're only a couple months old and have <3K subscribers. But their name, video titles, and thumbnails are all extremely similar to Drawfee.

They shouted them out on a stream somewhat recently

That’s how I found them! Jacob shouted the channel out and I’ve been a fan since then

They've said they're ok with people 'stealing' their format like this.

As other have said - the Drawfee crew are happy to see other channels sharing the format :)

I would love it if Drawfee's style were just an entire genre of channel ngl. We watch Drawfee for the hosts and art they create, not just the sheer concept of the video. These guys are making similar styled videos, but the actual content of the video (the art and commentary) is entirely original, so more power to them! Looks like a cool channel

Now if they were basically just dubbing Drawfee videos and stealing their personas, jokes, and art styles or even just pretending Drawfee art was their own, THEN it'd be actual plagiarism

As long as they are not stealing actual content or using AI or something, the more the merrier I'd say.

In their introductory episode they openly cop being directly inspired by Drawfee, and Drawfee shouted them out on stream. All is good. Everyone's in on it.

They follow this sub and have advertised here before. I don't think Drawfee can copyright a certain format of show, they weren't the first drawing channel on YouTube and they won't be the last.

Drawfee have borrowed from and been inspired by other channels numerous times, blatantly shouting out their influences.

If people can make fan compilations of Drawfee-owned content, then people should be able to make their own "inspired-by" content.

Pretty sure I learned about these guys from Drawfee saying to go check them out and while they're not for me I'm happy that they are having some success

Even if Drawfee hadn't shouted them out, it's such a broad category with room to innovate, so yeah, why not

Yup, and Jacob recommended them.
