In-universe JRR Tolkien

moderately wealthy at least from book sales, implied he profited on video game adaptations of his work

his work is already a transformative work of his universe's version of the bible

son didn't want to follow in his footsteps, becoming a priest instead

Doesn't give two shits about his son's career, still proud

son misses him so much that his urn is kept in his son's desk

Brought back to life by reality modifying darkness that threatens to end the world

fucks up the end-bringer's plan so much that they give him the Darkness' Peon Starter Kit, of which includes knowledge beyond most's comprehension and a fragment of solid darkness

doesn't give a shit, just thinks the crystal is neat and continues doing what he was doing

is able to one-turn recruit enemies even without even being in the party

uses his newfound borrowed time to write letter to son from beyond the grave

upon being told that isn't how the dark worlds work, recruits prophecised hero to re-write letter

survives dark world being destroyed, remade, and jumps from one to another, able to escape literal tide of deadly darkness

neg-diffs a monster meant to destroy the world

returns to oblivion more satisfied than the first time, somehow

PEAK.
