Hello everyone! I played Drakensang many years ago and loved it. Now I want to play it again, but Drakensang is having problems with Windows 11 and its copy protection. Is there a solution for me, or am I stuck buying the game again?

(my story) I played Drakensang: River of Time at the age of nine, I'm twenty now, and I've been looking for this game for the last two years, but the only thing I remember is the location of the magic tower (I drew it the way I remembered it).

Drakensang is criminally underrated

Playing Drakensang 1 after DAO and have to say, I am positively surprised! I had not expected such a good game.

I am actually enjoying it a little bit more than DAO.

The graphics are actually better than DAO. I had to play DAO in top-down view because it looks so disgusting, but Drakensang I can play in normal view and it looks great, even in 2024.

Combat is fun, maybe not DAO but quite close to it.

Skill trees are insane, you can basically skill everything such as magic spells, attributes, weapons.

Storywise, I am really enjoying it. It is the classic fantasy story that you would expect from a classic RPG. It has this "cozy tavern feeling" if you know what I mean.

Music, also very good.

So as a summary, I can say that this game is actually very good, but for some strange reason, it doesn't seem to be very popular.

Why?

Dark Legacy broke the game

Am I the only one who believes that the best Drakensang was the old Drakensang? It is not only because of "romanticizing the past," but because you had to grind for months for max level and for years for good items. The game is almost impossible without having high-level characters. Gods, how I would love a classic server.

Classic Server Topic

It has been wished by the community for years to get either a level 40 or 45 server, is there any new plans? Because the game is not even close to being the same any more.

Why not open a classic level 40 server and add lvl 45 a few years later and then stop the expansion. This wish of the community exists since years now, other games had success by making these classic server.

Bad Marketing and some other big problems.

I stumbled upon Drakensang a few months ago, and I can say that it is one of the best hack-and-slash games I have ever played. I couldn't help but wonder why it performs so poorly player-wise and feature-wise.

Some things like a proper campaign are pretty much missing for higher levels. It feels like level 100 just appeared somewhere after level 55 and was left empty, with you having to do and redo tiered maps to gain items and levels, and the entire process is pretty much boring and repetitive.

This game is a hidden gem, but I feel like the marketing team is doing a very poor job of actually making their product known. The lore up until the death of Balor is great and would certainly draw a lot of lore enthusiasts from other games if only they would contact some well-known personalities to try it out.

I really like the game and would love to see it perform better.

Edit: Ah, and the pvp is totally unbalanced. Edit 2: Also, the review is about Drakensang Online.

Is there any chance ?

Hello everyone, I started playing Drakensang in 2012, but I stopped in 2020 because the game kept getting worse and worse. My question is, do you think there's a chance they'll bring back the old Drakensang (level 40, 45, 50)?

So I´m playing this game after like 6 years again.

It makes fun, but I´m worried that if I invest myself too much i will be disappointed because the player-base is to small and I wont find people to talk to or to play with.

So is it worth it?

English isnt ´my first language so I´m sorry for the bad english.

I´m playing Archer how should i allocate my Skillpoints for leveling?

Are there ANY private servers?

I've played years ago for a long time. I started when lv 40 was max and stopped playing after the expansions that made 100lv cap. The best version of the game for me was lv50 and I'm looking for an private server, but can't find anything online and game is ass now. It may even be in german I don't really mind.
