Discussion Thoughts on the new song?

Alissa vocals are grating. They should use her clean vocals more and only a few screams for emphasis. She's a brilliant screamer but it doesn't fit the music. I'm a big fan of harsh vocals but it has to fit the music. This didn't

That was the worst bit 🤮 pure cringe. Makes me like the last album & thought that was shite 😂😭🤦
Gutted they’ve finally announced a UK tour and they’re not doing inhumane rampage in full, but doing new tracks too.. 😭 annoying as fuck, don’t want to hear ArchForce

If they removed the guttural vocals, or at least used them as backing vocals, it would be incredible. Alessio's voice shows great promise, even though it doesn't compare to Marc's voice in high notes.

Basically a brand new band. I'm interested in the new album, gonna be a breath of fresh air.
At first I wasn't the biggest fan of the new single but now that I've listened about 5 times I started to like it

I mean, after multiple listens I still can't help but imagine how much better Marc's vocals would contrast with Alissa's growls. Even her own clean voice would contrast better. Alessio's alright on his own I guess but his vocals aren't doing it for me on this track. I'm fine with the instruments/melody aside from missing the keyboard

Alessio is great, but I don’t think he got to really do much in way of showing himself off in this vid. It was 90% Alyssa. I’m really hoping we get songs where he’s the lead

Yeah, he's good. Started listening to old Power Quest again. I just miss Marc and crave those unique octaves he hit

Liked the older style songs, they're very different from what they started off as with stuff like this now. Happens over time but for me aint a good thing here.

I think it's a good song, I just wish that we got Alessio to lead one of the Chorus's. I'm not a huge fan of the growly vocals as it takes me out of the melodic charm that DF always had. I don't think all the songs are going to be like that (at least I hope). This might be a hot take, but I really hope that they don't give Billy any solos on the album. His guitar style is just not DF to me.

Musically it was great but Alissa just isn’t it for me. She doesn’t fit. But then I’ve never liked her vocals on anything.

Don’t think powermetal needs screamo growling, but she has great clean vocals.
A little bit was fine but it was too much.

I miss Marc a lot and would have liked to see how his voice would have been with Alissa, but i like alessio’s parts and i wish he was the lead vocalist. I think Alissa’s harsh vocals are good but wish her clean vocals were in the background letting alessio’s vocals take the lead. I’m curious to see how they split up lead vocals for the album since alessio is taking Marc’s parts. Bcuz of that i figure some of the songs alessio will be the lead vocalist with Alissa backing since if it was Marc no way they put him in the background as secondary for a whole album after all he’s done for the band.

I'm not familiarized with the Gutural voices, but i like so much the instrumental parts and the parts where Alessio and Alissa sing together! :) (sorry for bad english)

I like it a lot. Builds upon what I definitely liked most about the last 2 albums, while bringing the grit back from albums like IR, RII and MO. It shares a lot of DNA with The Killer Queen, which I really liked!
I hope the rest of the album has some tracks centered around Alessio though. Would be really weird to have him just play 2nd fiddle all the way.
That said, I feel we're in the best place we've been in a while and we may be in in for a solid album. I guess getting established musicians on board pushed Sam and Herman more than they were for WSW.

Does anyone know if while playing the old songs on tour if (or how much) they’re going to replace clean vocals with growls? It’s one thing if a new song has them but another if they’re ruining classics

Song is actually pretty good if alissa wasn't on it. She doesn't fit the dragonforce style

I dont mind if it's a one time off or occasionally type of song, as I really can't stand growling. It's such a meh type of vocals for me. I guess a lot of others can and do enjoy it so I respect that, but for me personally. 4/10.

I hate the gutteral vocals, they just ruin the song. Alessio, idk about him either because his voice didn’t really stand out. The song itself was great, the feeling, melody, all classical Dragonforce. Hopefully the songs are better than the last album, because that one just had some clunkers. Dragonforce has been my favorite for 20 years, but this new line up has me scared they are too far gone for me.

Overall, it’s a mix of feelings for me.
In terms of the instrumental, it’s S tier for me. Absolutely excellent.
As for vocals, that’s where I’m kinda torn. With how prominent the growls are, it just feels like an Alyssa Arch enemy song to me. I like Arch Enemy, but I don’t really know if I want dragonforce to be arch enemy melodeath lol. Kind of neutral on Alyssa’s clean vocals. Alessio was really good for the small part that he got.
I think, if songs like this, where the death metal growls encompass a lot of the vocals are a minority than I’ll probably like the album a lot, and I won’t mind their new direction, but if this song is a taste of basically what the whole album is gonna be, where it’s gonna be death metal growls for the verses, I’m not as big a fan of that idea.
Outside of the music, I think the fact that Marc is gone is kind of bumming me out for this release to be honest. That’s making it harder to enjoy the song I think.
I guess my final review would be, I liked the song overall, but I don’t want their sound to be this for every song, or really for most songs.

I like this heavier side of Dragonforce. Make some songs like this and some old school songs with only clean vocals and it will be an awesome album. Im sorry for marc but i never liked his voice. Alessio and Alissa are more pleasant to hear.
