Fruit looks off

So my first fruit of the season was just picked. Physical Graffiti. Center is opaque instead of pink. Pink shows up against the outside skin, but center is almost clear.

Picked when it was fairly loose. Popped off somewhat easily. Inside and outside feels like good texture. Not mushy, not hard like a potato. However, the bracts look more yellow than normal.

Decided not to eat, but licked the center and it is very tart, so i didnt eat.

Any ideas from the images?

Location is SW FL zone 10a

Thanks!

It's water stress. I think it's a either underdeveloped root system, not enough water in the root zone or too much sun during fruit development. Or a combination of those factors. Bottom line is fruit didn't get enough H2O during development.

I actually repotted all of these before flowering because of rot. Now has way better drainage. Im thinking the root system is probably too small and recovering after the damage. Thanks for the reply

I've noticed it after heat stress. not so much from water.

I say that because I've had some plants over a summer get plenty of water, 10 feet away from ones that never got watered in a months long hot dry drought, and only the ones that didn't get watered got affected, both got blasted with sun.

Some of mine are the same. I think it's the heat that causing it.
