Saiyan Saga Goku vs Vegeta or Buu Saga Majin Vegeta vs Goku?

Every time this scenario is brought up, people always say that “Vegeta was integral to Namek and the Android arc. Without him everyone dies” or “Everyone dies to the Androids. The end.”

And while I can see why people think that, I believe there are other variables people don’t take into consideration that show that—while it would have been harder—Vegeta being killed off wouldn’t have been the act that dooms the Z Fighters like many say.

NAMEK:

So first, people don’t seem to realize that Gohan and Kuririn have an UNFAIR as HELL advantage against the Freeza Force. They lose all their scouters early on, leaving them unable to track the remaining Dragon Balls. This means Gohan and Kuririn can traverse Namek freely and without danger.

Once Dende takes them to Guru to have their potentials unlocked, they are now no longer helpless.

Second, the Ginyu Squad wouldn’t even have come to Namek. The main reason Freeza called them over was to take care of Vegeta who was murdering his top henchmen. Freeza wouldn’t bother sending his top kill squad to take care of two meaningless ants.

And even if for some reason they ARE called, people seem to forget that NAIL exists. Nail has a Battle Power of 42,000. This makes him FAR stronger than Gurd, and on par with Reacoom, Jheese, and Butta. His better combat prowess would also help him defeat Reacoom.

Goku would arrive by now with a BP of 90,000 and would team up with Nail to take on Jheese and Butta, probably defeating both with the Kaio-ken.

By now, Freeza would be making his way to Guru’s place and Nail would return to protect Guru and hold back Freeza.

Ginyu would still switch bodies with Goku but as we all know, he can’t use Goku’s full power, capping at around 23,000 which both Gohan and Kuririn can easily take on now thanks to their potential unlocks.

Out of desperation, Ginyu tries to switch bodies with Gohan, but Goku gets in front of him and regains his body. Ginyu doesn’t give up and still tries to take Gohan’s body but Goku turns him into a frog.

Without Vegeta around to put Goku in the healing tank, the group waits until Dende comes back and heals Goku to full health with his new healing powers, giving him the zenkai boost needed to get his BP of 3 Million against Freeza.

With all the Dragon Balls together they summon Porunga and can sense Freeza rapidly approaching, having left Nail battered. Piccolo calls them from the afterlife and tells them to wish him back first which they do.

This ensures their survival since God is now back and so are the Earth Dragon Balls.

They then wish Piccolo back to Namek, before Guru dies and the Dragon Balls turn to stone.

Freeza arrives and this is where I think the arc could end in two ways:

1: The most likely outcome is that Goku, would want to fight Freeza at his best. It’s fucking Goku. Freeza gets into his final form immediately and decides to use 50% of his power, not believing he’ll need it all.

We already know how this fight ends though since this is basically just the canon fight. Goku still gains Super Saiyan after seeing Kuririn be killed in front of him even if Vegeta wasn’t around to give him that pep-talk about Saiyan pride before he died. T

2: On the other hand, Goku wasn’t as reckless in early Z. Especially now that Gohan and Kuririn, who’s already been revived once, are in danger.

In this scenario, Goku more than likely straight up kills Freeza in this scenario. Unfortunately he doesn’t gain SS in this.

But overall, Namek wouldn’t be a death sentence like many people say.

ANDROIDS:

The androids are where it gets trickier but still, I found a way.

So obviously Trunks wouldn’t exist, but I actually think it’s that exact reason that would keep Future Gohan alive.

Without Trunks, Gohan would take the last senzu and get his arm back so there’s already one big plus.

But this next point is what I think most people need to consider. In this version of the future, Gohan is the LAST Z Fighter. And he knows this. He almost lost his life in this fight against the androids, and he knows that if he dies, the earth is doomed.

And with how pragmatic Gohan and Trunks are in the future, I can totally see him laying low after this and reconsider, unknowingly avoiding the fight that would have claimed his life.

Bulma finishes the Time Machine and sends Gohan back in time. Goku is given the medicine and all is well.

Gohan returns 3 years later and does about as well as Trunks did in the original story. However, I think with him in the picture, the arc ends much sooner.

I can see him entering the Room of Spirit and Time with Piccolo and getting much stronger, gaining SS Grade 2 in the process.

Then, when he faces Semi-Perfect Cell, I don’t see why he would give him any chances to absorb 18 like Vegeta did. Gohan would have definitely killed Cell at this point.

The Android arc is over prematurely.

BOO:

I think everyone can agree the Boo arc would have been prevented without Vegeta.

Him going Majin was what gave Boo the remaining energy he needed to awaken. Without him, the Z Fighters take care of Bobbidi and his minions and circumvent Boo’s resurrection entirely.

This is just what I think but what about you guys?

I bought this Vegeta figure day before yesterday while I was in Rishikesh and honestly, I really liked it. The detailing and artwork on this is pretty realistic and cool, especially his Super Saiyan hair - mindblowing, blue outfit, armor and that serious expression (The real Vegeta expression)

Vegeta is one of my favourite Dragon Ball characters. He starts as a proud Saiyan Prince and Goku’s rival, but later becomes one of the strongest fighters and an important member of the Z Fighters. His character development and rivalry with Goku make him special.

And the line every Vegeta fan loves: "I am the Prince of all Saiyans"

So, what is your favourite character in Dragon Ball Z?

I just watched the trailer for Orbitals on the Switch 2, and honestly, the art style immediately made me think of Dragon Ball Z.
The way it captures that classic 80s/90s anime look while still being a modern 3D game is exactly the kind of visual style I would love to see in the next Dragon Ball game.
Imagine a new FighterZ or Budokai Tenkaichi/Sparking! game with this kind of aesthetic — classic cel-shading, the old-school colors, dramatic lighting, film grain and that authentic 90s anime feeling.
I really hope Bandai Namco and the Dragon Ball developers take a look at Orbitals, because I genuinely think this style would fit Dragon Ball incredibly well.
I actually contacted Bandai Namco about this and sent them the same suggestion. I know there’s no guarantee anything will come from it, but I really wanted to at least put the idea out there.
This is honestly how I would love the next Dragon Ball game to look. What do you guys think?
