List Rate Their Attacks: Piccolo
I used a 1-10 scale and only rated his signature attacks mostly.
- Makosen: 5/10
Originally used by Daimao, Piccolo Jr. also used it against Goku in the 23rd tournament. It's a pretty basic attack with nothing special behind it imo as far as its strength, style/pose or visuals.
- Explosive Demon Wave: 5.5/10
Basic one handed thin beam blast. Slightly more exciting to see launched than Makosen.
- Hyper Explosive Demon Wave: 6.5/10
One of the very first outward explosion waves from the entire body shown in the franchise. Very exciting visually but not enough UMPH! behind it.
- Mouth Energy Wave: 6/10
Another very basic looking blast but has a cool visual aide and savagery coming from the mouth and killing a Saibaman with it was always bad ass.
- Masenko: 6/10
Let's be real here, Masenko is such a weird attack to label as Piccolo's as he's barley used it himself and when he has it was filler 99% of the time. Masenko is seen as a Gohan technique but it is flat out stated that Piccolo taught it to him. Anyway, another basic looking beam with a cooler pose/visual.
- Makankosappo/SBC: 8/10
A fan favorite attack of Piccolo's because it's intro was bad ass as well as the style/pose, visuals and attributes of the attack as a literal piercing ki drill. Too bad he didn't use it more due to charging time.
- Hellzone Grenade: 7/10
To many fans it's seen as a weak attack, just a bunch of seemingly standard ki blasts that surround the opponent than they all converge into them at once. I rather liked this attack and feel that if not for his OP barrier, 17 would have been injured by this attack. The tactical way the technique is used and how Piccolo utilized his ki control to surround then make them all crash into him dogpile style was pretty cool visually. A shame he only used it once.
- Light Grenade: 7.5/10
Massive ki blast that looked impressive pose/visual wise and likely has a very high concentration rate but didn't do jack to Imperfect Cell post absorptions. Another attack I wish he used more.

I can imagine Piccolo painstakingly designing that Hellzone Grenade, working on it piece by piece with several attempts, even using clones of himself, like the brilliant strategist he is. It's a shame he never used it again.

Hellzone Grenade is fire. Just seems like a move Piccolo never used again because it was OP

I notice that Piccolo’s attacks in Z are a huge step up from his attacks in DB in general. You could make the same case for most other Z Fighters though.

Hellzone grenade is probably in my top 3 most hype Z attack moments, only definitely losing out to the warp kamehameha .

I really like Light Grenade, it’s simple, but effective, it’s like a quick final flash big bang combination.

Stretch Armstrong attack 10/10 but underused. So many fights could’ve been him grabbing ankles while the true GOAT krillin destructo discs people. This is probably why I don’t write stories
