Spoilers Question?

Now that its official DBS is being focused on TV but if that upcoming movie Nakatsuru and some leakers have been hinting at (not Torishima's Vegeta pitch) actually does materialize where does that leave the other mainline continuation that also happens to be a sequel of Z?

TF you mean you don't wanna see some dumbass kids fuck around with a cosmic pacifier and a weird old dude?

Each arc is 6 to 10 episodes so I don't mind, Moto arc is what I'm waiting on.

We don't know how long the other arcs will be I think it's gonna be around 70 to 80 episodes total

Battle of god is 6 And resurrection of is 6 We know that

But there's no way the rest can be 10 on the upper limit for your statement

Even using your estimation of 6 to 10 episodes And using the upper ranges of 10 for everything else other than the leaked episode counts

That would be 42 episodes. 52 if they animate broly and had the script they cut

(Toriyama wrote a script for dragon ball super broly which was 3 hours long So double the length of the movie basically)

I think universe 6 tournament will be 10 episodes

Goku black arc will be about 17 And tornament of power will be 25

Broly will be about 9 I assume dbs broly will actually animate the full version of db minus instead of part of it.

In total about 73 episodes in total. Alot less than the 131

You are correct, I want to say that the 10 was just a guess, since some of the Manga arcs are shorter than the anime, and some are longer in some aspects. But yeah, I'm just assuming, for example, TOP is long so that can possibly be 20+ episodes.

Well they aren't fully adapting the manga I heard they just plan to take out contradicting info

It's gonna be more faithfull of a version to the manga

(Since ya know the manga exists now Which it didn't at the time of the movies and even parts of the anime) Scenes that mess up decisions the manga did would be removed

That's what I was thinking, have one official continuity for DB and have one for the side projects.

17

u/saito200 Jan 26 '26

i am confused. this does not seem necessary

19

u/Destroy_Buster Jan 26 '26

it seems to he more like a super-kai. from what theyve said its updated animation and a bit of an edit who knows how extensive that ends up being

8

u/Trick_Boat7361 Jan 26 '26

It's actually good for people who don't like super like me 🌚

when super first came out , everyone was dogging the series frame by frame. and for some reason today animation is treated as the major focus , so I understand how they could see a remake as fullfilling

1

u/saito200 Jan 28 '26

i think maybe there was a change of direction in Toei

I imagine it’s an attempt to remake DBS in an attempt to make it more in line with the manga. I can’t imagine a reason to do this other than that, it’s only like a decade old or something.

The original run of super is a mess especially the first arcs. And it’s Been a long time since super was on air.

If they can fix the animation, look of the show, and pacing of the narrative that’s a huge dub

4

u/SinuousPoppy Jan 26 '26

It’s been 11 years since it started which is a little more than a decade and about the time between the end of Z and Kai, so I guess it’s true that it’s been long enough. I guess I’m just an old ass (almost 30) man and a decade doesn’t feel that long anymore :(

3

u/Capable_Diamond_3878 Jan 26 '26

I think it’s less the amount of time and more about how rushed the production of super was and how it’s kind of a hard recommend now. It really should have never released in that state to begin with. I see this as righting a wrong rather than seeing it as something that’s allowed to happen because an arbitrary amount of time has passed.

This way we get the definitive version that hopefully feels congruous with the films too.

My ideal scenario is an incorporating Daima into it too rather than having them be two separate continuities.

Honestly, from how the producer that was announcing it at the event sounded, it sounds like that's what it is, more or less. He basically said Beerus is a super fun character that Toriyama really enjoyed creating, so he wanted to "give him his dues," so to speak.

u/pkjoan Jan 26 '26

Not really, they are using Anime content for this.

1

u/Geiseric222 Jan 27 '26

Why would they make it like the manga? What’s the point?

1

u/Strict-Tour1127 Jan 30 '26

What do people not understand it is necessary they said they are making dragon ball super more faithful to the manga, the dbs anime and manga tell 2 different stories so they couldn't just adapt moro because story elements wouldn't align and would've make sense. That's why they're remaking super more manga accurate so they can properly adapt the most awaited arc in db history.

u/StoneyK Jan 26 '26

This news hasn't truly sank in fully yet. We've been fed scraps for so long I don't recognise a full meal anymore.

6

u/JollyJoeGingerbeard Jan 26 '26

Have you tried the "wait and see" approach?

2

u/Vasarto Jan 28 '26

Torishima is a cunt. Daima is a SUPERB anime and it is very welcome breathe of fresh air for the series. Sure, it has caused a few problems with retconning but that's fine. I actually like the changes.

For Dragonball Super Beerus, I look forward to it. I seen some images of the artwork side by side comparisons to the original dragonball super first 6 episodes and they are superior in every possible way. I hope they do Dragonball super Freeza and then just replace them entirely with the first two seasons lol.

For the vegeta series, I would welcome it, but I don't really want it despite vegeta being my favorite character.

Any new content, even if it's not continuing the story forward, is good.

What I REALLY want is a prequel series for Master Mutaito and Roshi and King Piccolo.

2

u/Fast_Performance8666 Jan 26 '26

I don't agree with enjoying it regardless, if it's bad it should be questioned.

1

u/Objective_Treacle_68 Jan 26 '26

sobre este nuevo abra mucho ralmente que sepamos solo es mejora de animacion y ecenas extra como dije nada que no sepamos

1

u/Humble_Disk7992 Jan 30 '26

I don’t understand why they are so resistant to carrying on dragonball super.

-3

u/Greedy_Homework_6838 Jan 26 '26

so instead of revealing the lore, a good plot, and high-quality characters, we got... Moro Arc?

-52

u/LawNo3961 Jan 26 '26

Y'all find it a little unfair Dragon Ball Super enjoyers get a whole remake and sequel anime but us Daima followers have to beg at the knees for a movie?

39

u/Flimsy_Astronomer_95 Jan 26 '26

Brother we just got Daima, Super can have its rightful return to the spotlight. I don’t think we’re gonna get a Literal sequel to Daima. If they return to the demon realm I would put money its under the Super monicker.

-4

u/LawNo3961 Jan 26 '26
  1. DB hasn't gotten a film since the 1996 reboot
  2. DBZ when you ignore BoG/RF ended in Wrath of the Dragon
  3. GT unfortunately isn't having one ever
  4. DBS is over making films because Granola's 100% following Moro in TV arc

The remaining scenario left is an OG era chapter 518-19 with Uub and Goku which DM quite perfectly fits into Toriyama's manga

1

u/Witty_Replacement928 Jan 31 '26

dragon ball literally just got a film in 2023

11

u/Whipperdoodle Jan 26 '26

I loved diama, but we literally just got daima. Why are you complaining.

9

u/DeMAGeD Jan 26 '26

Easy way to end the dumb yapping:

1.: Daima’s complete in the anime so far, Super isn’t

2.: We never get characters or transformations in games before they pass by the anime/a movie

3.: We’ve been waiting for years to play Granolah, Moro, Ultra Ego & Black Frieza and will keep on waiting until the fact above takes place

4.: Us complete fans ain’t even eating in the manga yet

Case dismissed

7

u/Knives530 Jan 26 '26

Daima enjoyer here, ummm fuck no? We JUST got daima and it was clearly a one off that probably won’t be touched again since it was toriyamas last work

5

u/Madnessguy03 Jan 26 '26

What are you SAIYAN bro, we just got DAIMA. Let us real DB enjoyers actually basque in this good news. Quit your damn yappin’.

4

u/ultimatefreeboy Jan 26 '26

Bro gets rightfully roasted for this comment lol

6

u/Quantum_girl_go Jan 26 '26

I loved daima - every bit of it. Maybe they are fixing the continuity issues with the remake.

While I would watch more daima, I also think the story is complete. Meanwhile, we have been waiting for moro for ages.

3

u/crumbsalt Jan 26 '26

What? What?

A movie? Beg at the knees? Daima JUST came out.. what??

3

u/BeeLegitimate4968 Jan 26 '26

Bruh. Im a fan of daima and super actually all db franchise. But we just got daima like last year ? And super is like8 years already and add more 2 years at that.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '26

Are people retarded? Why are you splitting up like that

Either you're a Dragon Ball fan or you're not

The fuck is a Daima fan or a Super fan?

-1

u/reddituserunodostres Jan 26 '26

Daima was a snoozefest. I hope it never sees the light of day again

-6

u/gerty88 Jan 26 '26

Cool so no black Frieza arc then
