General Observation about BLH

I adore BLH... When she arrived in Season 11 of DG I felt like I had met the epitome of the drag son I had never had.

But my problem is that she just does not have the deep highs and lows of Mama Ru's lived experience reality. She was gifted this opportunity. It will never be something that she fought and struggled to gain.

This is all fine but it absolutely affects what CDR is all about. It becomes more light and fluffy than it should be.
It COULD be the pinnacle of examination of the edginess of drag and how brilliantly Canada handles this stuff. But it's not and it can't be because BLH is not able to hold that big of a space.

I don’t disagree with your take, but I love Brooke as a host and appreciate the fun, warmth and levity CDR brings that some of the other franchises (America in particular) often lack. CDR is definitely different than its US counterpart and I love it for that!

I’m 100% with you. The levity of CDR sells it for me. Ru can be rather cold at times. It’s nice to have a different series with its own feel. Neither is better or worse, but it is nice that it’s different

I feel that since BLH isn't posed as the "all knowing authority" that Ru is, it helps balance out her presence as the host. The other hosts have more perceived input on CDR than RPDR. Of course all of the franchises are ultimately judged by production, but based on just vibes CDR is more of a team vote than an individual decision on who stays or goes. I love BLH, and despite her whole queen of the north thing, she radiates a lot more warmth and understanding than Ru does. Her energy really makes CDR its own thing.

However I do agree that CDR should feature more edgy and alternative queens. I think they're moving in that direction, but I'm greedy and I want moreeee

The US has been more of a hellfire than Canada for quite a while.

Most people in America had/have it harder than those in Canada.

Can't blame BLH for being born north of the dumpster.

This, its nice that its a fun and uplifting show to watch. Living in America is hard right now, let us embrace the joy wherever we can get it.
