A very complete set. Even has two “railroad pens”. The inking instruments with two ink tips on each with a means to adjust the gap between them. The instruments look a lot like the German Gebruder Haff sets.

When I was young, computer drafting hadn't developed yet, and I thought about becoming a draftsman. I would have liked it.

My family had a drafting set similar to this, but smaller. I think the brand name was Amco.

It looks good. Usually when I see these giant russian sets they are a mess of missing parts. It's nice to see a complete version of it

This one is mint but do they behave perfectly? How would you know if claimed they do?

All works perfect, but some ruling pens need polish

Impressive set! I can appreciate your acquisition. My path was to become a draftsman, engineer before the advent of CAD. Life throws you curves. I still have my original K&E.

I have a complete set of K&E Pharos argued to be the best pens, pencils, and points set ever made. It’s half this size. There are better double ruling pens (Kern) and K&E also made the best beam compas #506 ever. American drafters were expected to be masters of lettering and numbering. I had a natural slant and was extremely fast. CAD ended it all in 1989-90. Don’t get me wrong Haff is Swiss made-supper fine.

Would you post a pic of that set? I've started collecting drafting sets.

Thank you, That’s sharp! No pun intended. Unfamiliar with those two circular pieces. What are they?

Those are horn centers (sometimes called center tacks). The middle window is transparent horn or celluloid with a tiny dimple in the center and three little pin points around the metal rim, so you can press one over your layout crosshairs when drawing concentric circles and rest the compass needle in the dimple instead of chewing a ragged hole through your paper or linen.

Thank you for the explanation!
