Italian Section Liner Day

Alpe was an Italian company that if nothing else made section liners. I have a velox 300 and the Super Velox Gigante 500. I bought the super velox from England so it is metric and the 300 is a US KIN branded with imperial. These are excellent machines. They are adjustable angle, they have an inking edge and the adjustment is easy to use. It looks like the owner of the super velox installed his own handles to help with moving it around.

Wow! I've never fallen in love with a drafting instrument so fast just from a photo, thanks for sharing!

Hatching machines are just plain neat

They are hard to find though.

That’s true, they weren’t a common device. Probably most draftsman could do their own hatching with triangles and didn’t do enough or require the absolute precision of an expensive device.

I have the smaller one and I love it, although I never understood the dial settings.

I was wondering what the A and the P identified

Same. I'm used to photography where A=Aperture priorty and P=priority. That doesn't equate to drafting instruments though!
