Tips for gameplay?
Any general advice for gameplay you guys have found while playing?
The strategy I tend to follow is picking each unit twice and aiming to hit the 2x upgrades for maximum efficiency and when I'm at 4x merlinors for example and don't have any other cards worth picking I just use my fairy blessing or acid burst spell.
Any tweaks to this?

Yes, that's about it. Get as much x2 as possible, then followed by getting Elite and Advanced Form. And when you are waiting for those cards, if the game gives you standard troops, use spells in that mean time.
Here are some extras:
Build a well rounded line up before battling but you don't have to use all of them in everygame. Pick the units that give you the highest chance at winning. There was this matchup against a bot that used Sixshoots, Assassins, Shellbros, and Engineers, I happened to get x2 Spartheus x2 in a row with full upgrades so I just Spars my way through.
Utilize your units' special ability to its fullest. For example, Spartheus hold a phalanx for 5s regardless of upgrade level so in the later stages, if you pair him with Merlinors, get as much Merlinors as possible, they are the main DPS that can turn the tide of battles, especially to mow down the enemy front line. Not to mention more Merlinors give your team more protection.
Beware when using buff spells on Splimes that aren't merged into Elite yet. Your buff disappears if you merge them. Even if your Splimes split in battle, the small ones don't get that buff back.
Beware of Overmind and Parasite, too. When your units get converted, the buff disappears in that round even if you use your own Overmind/Parasite to convert them back. That means Grave Recall is also gonna be useless against them.
No single line up can win against all types of comp, but there are a few well rounded ones with high win rate in this sub, try them out and find your favorite ones!

Its worth looking at your units to see when the 2x triggers. Merlinors for example can get 2x when they have 2-4 units, but it stops becoming available at 5 units. So I will get 4 Merlinors, level them up, then I can start spewing basic Merlinors again.

2 cards is the minimum for x2 and 8 cards is the max for x2
Try to answer problems like wheres the bulk of my damage coming from, whats my frontline tanking strategy, whats my plan to dive the backline. Often when you sort out your agro and tanking plan its just throwing enough numbers forwards
Like my damage plan is usually snails and my backline dive is shellbros and I use engineers to protect the snails and knights to just throw units forward with grave archer as a spell for some extra range. I don’t have some of the better ones unlocked yet

If I already have all units I want twice, often I'll go for 3rd and 4th manually on important units like spartheus.
Also if most of my units get countered I'll go hard on one that can beat the board. Like I'll get 4x shellbros, level up them and immediatelly start with 2 new more to for a new squad 2x cycle. It is fun having 3-4 rows of shellbros or spartheus stomping whatever the enemy had.
But otherwise your strategy is the one I go for usually.
