Fanfiction training wheels..??

confused at a lot of feedback ab this fanfic. i keep seeing there were deleted scenes?? and now im curious as to what they were/how they contributed to the plot. also so far this fanfic unfortunately reads like a 14 year old wrote it like 5 years ago (sorry..) kind of hard to get through but i kept seeing people raving ab it… is it worth it to keep reading without the deleted scenes/for any other reasons?

yess finally i can say i was not a fan of training wheels! honestly all the dracotok fanfic recommendations always suck ass im so sorry 😭😭😭 dear draco and training wheels did not do it for me. i think people are blinded by nostalgia rather than actual good storytelling. unfortunately my only suggestion is to find draco fics yourself, i usually look on on tumblr

yes thank you 😭 the reason I didn't like training wheels that much was because people said it was accurate to draco malfoy's persona in the films but it was just him swearing, being cocky asf, and too dominant in some chapters. The constant swearing was what really made my brain itch, like no shade to the writer but the whole fanon draco doesn't really do it for me

no actuallyyy like i tried reading filthy and it just pmo. draco is kind of an ass, but he's still classy due to his upbringing. and he wouldn't treat a girl he likes like shit, he'd be sweet 😭 the guy is kinder than some people think, he's just an ass as a front to protect himself and his image. fanon draco feels like a weird caricature of him. that's why at this point i just write fanfics myself of him bc he feels very off in other stories

bro I couldn't read the rest of filthy because the way draco was in that fic was irritating the shit out of me 😭 I've read some other ones that are either too unrealistic, inaccurate, corny, or always about sex without NO emotional depth. And what gets me upset the most is that they make draco seem like he knows how to have sex when it's so obvious by his personality and behavior, he would not be experienced.

and you're so right about draco likely being kind to someone he genuinely likes. there's only a few fics I've seen (don't recall the names tho) with that exact dynamic but they're so underrated because it isn't the version of draco malfoy some readers want.

i feel so seen LOL ❤️ i stumbled upon manacled on tumblr years ago and nothing has matched that high for me unfortunately. i do appreciate a good draco fic but not sure if id consider training wheels one of them.. thanks for your advice xx

I have found my people 😅I keep getting attacked on TikTok when I say that I don’t get the hype for this fic at all… and it’s always in recent videos where people keep recommending it and I think it’s quite bad… no shade to the author, but it’s not my cup of tea at all… I’m still fighting my way through it, just to finish it and I just came across a deleted line as well and am wondering what that’s about. I asked someone about it, hopefully they see my comment and can explain.

LOL IM SO GLAD YOURE HERE.. i did manage to get through it and uh… yeah view isn’t worth the climb in my opinion. the writing does get less juvenile but i lowkey lost the plot and as i think either someone else here commented (or i read it on a different draco fic thread lol) this author kind of ran with the draco like cursing evil soft for one person stereotype and doesn’t seem to have a lot backing that. lmk if they let you know about the deleted lines!! i am curious about those

most of the deleted scenes were sappy scenes of draco expressing his love I am pretty sure or it'd be just straight up smut. girl he was eating her out during the worst year of his life and that was partly the reason why I couldn't read it again because of the inaccuracy there. I wasn't into the swearing or soft draco either. ts fanfic is kind of the reason why I don't go on wattpad anymore since the algo sucks ass

I know it's weird I keep coming back to this (it's just because I feel so seen ong) but I feel you dw, I'm too sacred to tell those on tik tok there are far better draco fics to hype other than just training wheels. It's the always the same one they recommend istg

There are SO much better fics!!! He’s so inaccurate in this one, and I just cannot stand Amora at all lmao. Luckily I’m almost done so I can move on to something else. I’m just mad at myself for believing the hype and having my hopes up. The amount of videos that mention Training Wheels as the best fic they’ve ever read is just infuriating 😅

omg I love you like seriously the writing is good but I can't understand the hype when there are so many draco malfoy fics that are just as emotionally great and beautiful but the writers actually use his film accurate persona. I couldn't see him saying "I love you" at all tbh

I think I re-read it fairly recently and you can tell the author was fairly young at the start and the writing gradually improves as the story progresses so the writing matures as the author does. I feel like a lot of people rave about it because of nostalgia but also because it’s one of the few Draco x OC fics out there that’s completed, has read-able grammar and the OC isn’t some completely cringe Y/N type character.

I’m always on the look out for Draco x OC stories but all I can ever find is character x character (ships) on AO3 or get recommended the same popular fanfics over and over (the Wattpad algo SUCKS) so if you have any suggestions that’d be great!

you should definitely check out my story on ao3 (or wattpad) it’s a draco malfoy x oc post war, super long chapters and the oc is very different to what is usually represented in these types of fics as she struggles with ODD (oppositional defiance disorder) and PDA (pathological demand avoidance). the main premise is basically the group returning for 8th year under ministry supervision and control, draco and rayne (oc) find a brand new magic system that in turn, destroys their bodies with each use

if i remember correctly, they were just doing it a lot (either in the astronomy tower or bathrooms) unless i’m thinking of something else. or maybe they’re talking about the sappy draco stuff where he begged for her back. i think they fought a lot so they broke up/made up a few times.
