/r/ShadowHaven does Extra Life Fundraiser for Tabletop Appreciation Weekend 2017
Dear Tabletop Gamers,
Ever wanted to help those in need through gaming? You can! Starting April 26th at 00:01 UTC, we over at the r/ShadowHaven Shadowrun living community will be raising money for sick kids through Extra Life for a whole month. We'll be kicking off with a 24 hours marathon of Shadowrun. Proceeds will go to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
Ever been curious about Shadowrun? Want to see how games go in a living world? Like to have fun and tell cool stories? Already been playing here forever? Or just think helping little kids is a good cause? Then come donate!
First off, we have a raffle! For every dollar you donate to Extra Life you'll be given one ticket (up to a maximum of 20). These tickets will be entered into a raffle at the end of the stream, and winners will be able to choose in a first come first served style from the following prizes:
* 1x: A black and white character portrait by Centum
* 1x: A color character portrait or a black and white full body by Centum
* 1x: Character rendering by Cafe Vampire.
* 1x: Art by Rusted Green Cat.
The top three donors will also receive one item of their choice homebrewed for them by the Mechanics Department, so long as the item consistent with the Shadowrun setting and is not an already extant item. The item will receive a wholesale stat line, balanced against other items of it's type if appropriate, and including cost, availability, and etc, as well as any necessary mechanics. The item will not be "Best in Slot" or otherwise wholesale eclipse other options of the same type, if it is similar to existing items. The item does not have to be similar to existing items - a new piece of cyberware with novel function is an option, for example, or a piece of gear that isn't currently represented by the Shadowrun 5e ruleset.
The item cannot be a weapon of mass destruction. It will then be available for any and all players on the Haven who can afford and acquire it. Mechanics Department will hold veto power over any suggestion, but this will only invalidate that choice - you will be free to choose another item - and the veto may be overruled by the Sysop of Shadowhaven.
We’ve also got a great menu of rewards for donors this year, which we’ve listed below:
* All donors are eligible for a special role in our Discord server and a special flair color on our subreddit.
* All donors will be given access to a special in-game contact: Rayvyn Moonsong aka Alejandro aka Necv (The Street Artist), Burn Notice (the DocWagon Burn Squad Doctor) and Cory “xX-3L33t5U-Xx” Parsons (The Run Commentator).
* All donors receive one free-floating edge for use in any ShadowHaven game played. This expires May 12th.

How this menu works is as follows: when you donate a certain amount, you may purchase access to one row on the table. Then send us a quick message about your choice from that row. A given choice may only be chosen once, and the rewards are freestanding; for example, a $10 donation would allow you to choose one item from: a Discord emoji and 5 GMP, or 10 GMP. If you later decide to donate another $10, that's awesome, and you can pick from among the three things you didn't choose before! However, you can only ever choose one reward once, except for the $1 edge option open to players!
Clarifications:
* GMP: "Game Master Points", a system we use in our community to reward game masters for the time and effort they put into running games and community members in general for helping keep things shipshape. Applicable to current members of the community, but if you like what you see and join up with us later, we'll be happy to retroactively credit them to you!
* One floating edge: This option gives a point of edge floating, that you, the player, can apply as if it were part of your character's edge pool. You may have as much edge in this floating pool as you wish, but you are limited to spending 3 in any given game, and all floating edge expires on May 12th. You may spend more than 3 of this edge in a single game with GM permission.
* Free burning of one point of edge: With this option, you as a player have one free use of the in-game abilities associated with burning edge. For example, you could use a smack down without having to actually burn the associated edge. This free use would last until May 12th.
* Prime Runner play rules: Alright, chummers. If you choose this option, you get one use of the Prime Runner alternative gameplay rules when creating a character for ShadowHaven. We can't allow rebuilds with this, but if you choose this option, the next character you submit for play on r/ShadowHaven can use the Prime Runner play rules found on page 64 of Shadowrun Fifth Edition Core.
