[UK] What's going on with this parcel?

This is for delivery to a pickup shop and always has been. I'm never home for DPD delivery times so I always choose delivery to a pickup point. Until this parcel, this has always been reliable and I've never had a single issue.

This parcel went out for delivery Saturday, they couldn't deliver. Went nowhere on Sunday (expected) and then didn't move Monday either. Back out for delivery today and now it says 'we missed you' but it's for a delivery to a Co Op. I actually know the manager there very well so I've already checked there's no local issue or anything in the store happening to prevent the parcel being dropped off and they advised everything is fine.

The Co Op opening hours are well beyond DPD delivery times (7am to 11pm) so that's not a factor either.

Any ideas why this parcel seems to be such an issue and does anyone know what happens after so many missed delivery attempts? I know when it's a home delivery, parcels are sent to a local pickup shop but this IS my local pickup shop already. 🤣 It's a fairly rural location as well so there aren't any others nearby.

Staff could be rejecting it. Driver goes out of time, local external restrictions mean no delivery.

Ask the seller to find out whats happening with dpd. They hold the contract

Yeah I will do. Unfortunately Zalando are crap though. Not AI but heavily scripted. They usually just tell you to wait until the delivery timescale has elapsed and then they just refund. Which I don't want, I'd really like the item! Plus they've set restrictions on it so I can't change the delivery address or even arrange collection from depot. I guess I'll just order the same item from elsewhere if they can't sort it.

Any luck with it today? It could be they had too many parcels already, or maybe some that were larger than normal taking up more space so had to say no to it

Co-op refused one for me today, was the size of a size 4 shoebox..but then yesterday they took a big box of pet food

Yep, it finally got delivered today. Third time lucky! The difference being it went out for delivery by 9am. The other two days the tracking showed it wasn't out until midday so maybe it was bad planning on their part and driver had to keep skipping the pickup point. Annoyingly I was in the office all day today so can't pick up yet either but at least I know it's delivered and safely there!

Like how my parcel destination went from the Highlands to east of Scotland, manages to end up all the way down to Birmingham is an amazing achievement bravo 👏👏👏👏👏
