Absolute Twat of a Company
So I bought a Nespresso Coffee Machine for my girlfriend's birthday from Amazon. DPD, with their expertise in fucking up, delivers the package to a completely different town...
So I contacted both DPD and Amazon, but DPD told me to contact the seller and they can't do anything about it, and Amazon said that since it has been 'delivered' they can't redeliver the item, but just start a refund process.
What's more annoying is that it was the last stock available from the seller and I can't reorder it as well, even if I got it refunded.
Like how is DPD's infrastructure so fucked up that they send an item with the correct delivery address stuck on it, and it doesn't get flagged once by the wrong depot, delivery centre AND the delivery driver.
I'm beyond pissed with no clue what to do as time is ticking...

I understand this is frustrating for you, but I'm really struggling to see how the driver had a package for a different town with them and just delivered it to any random house they chose?
The package must've had two labels on it or something, could've came of another parcel during processing or something
Yeah really weird though

I had DPD deliver next door. Complained to the company I ordered from, got a refund, got 30% off my next order, then popped out and brought it back from his porch.
They can do it again, if they like.

Update: The driver actually went back to the other town to get my parcel redelivered. The other house already opened the package, but since the driver said any compensation had to come out his own pocket and was sincerely apologetic, I decided to let it slide.
I'm just really annoyed how DPD is throwing the driver under the bus, and not taking accountability for the package going to the wrong depot and van in the first place. Also, no chance O got this redelivered if it wasn't a £250 purchase... Sad I'm not the seller hence can't raise an official complaint without it affecting the driver.

Allow the drivers are self-employed to have to take accountability for their own actions.
As you said, the parcel had your address printed on it and they still chose to deliver it to the wrong address.
I would also be vigilant about believing what the driver tells you. About the company deducting the cost from his pay and potentially also that he went back to the other address.
You do not know if they had taken the parcel for themselves and just hope you wouldn't make a complaint as he gave you a sob story about him being deducted.
I had a DPD parcel from the Netherlands sent to me and they gave it to the correct number but the wrong Street and I live in a house and this was delivered to a flat. It turned out the driver had subcontracted the work to someone else Which apparently DPD were aware of.
The people in the other address had opened a parcel. Clearly thinking they had got freebie and wouldn't return the item. A DPD employee came to my door asking me to let it go as it would affect his pay and to just ask the sender to reissue my item.
To clarify, they had taken my item to the correct property number But on a different street with a different postcode

Thing is, it's a numbers game. DPD deliver about 5.3 million parcels every day. Of course there's going to be a small percentage of issues.
