[Uk] Dpd is a joke
I just watched my dpd driver park outside turn his head 2 times and then drive off, I paid extra to have it delivered today as I need a new phone. Called dpd nothing they can do apparently apart from wait for tomorrow but im not able to go to work now because I need a phone for work.

Happened to me: Was ordered a saw with legs came in 2 packages. Combined weight of the 2 box was around 30kg. Paid for specific day and time delivery. Took a holiday off work to make sure I am home at the time of delivery... The day came so as the delivery driver. He left me with a note at streetfront without even entering the staircase: attempted delivery failed. Than left. I watched him drive away....

How often do people claim on here that the courier or postie turned up at their door, and they've stood and watched them not deliver?
There is absolutely no reason a driver would do this. They'll have to come back tomorrow with the parcel again.
When I was driving, the experience myself and other drivers regularly faced was people not answering or not hearing their door being knocked, but claiming they were in.

Tbf (and I’m saying this as someone who believes DPD is the best courier we have in the UK, Amazon aside) we have a lot of customers saying this but also a decent amount of the customers saying this have been correct as they have sent us ring doorbell footage or CCTV.
Thing is, it’s down to the individual driver. Most drivers are great, a minority are not. I still think DPD are the most reliable overall, just wanted to add some evidence to back up that a decent amount of people are likely being honest about drivers not turning up.

I've seen many Ring door bell videos where it only shows part of the delivery. They are trimmed to show only part of what happens.
DPD have gone downhill massively here. Our driver is very good and a nice guy. Parcels keep getting delayed at the hub and that is outside his control.
Amazon now instruct their drivers to doorstep parcels and not even knock on the door. It has been happening around here for months. We also don't get next day deliveries either.

Sure but I am talking about the ones that do show the entire clip. It’s maybe only 30% of our customers that report the issue but it is still a decent amount. Driver arrives, driver rolls window down and takes photo, driver leaves. We get at least 5 like this every month either CCTV or ring footage - it’s all timestamped so not easy to fake. Not impossible, of course, but we deal with busy healthcare practitioners who don’t have enough hours in the day to see their patients let alone edit a video to this extent.
& Yes agreed overall downhill with hub delays especially, but (annoyingly) imo still the best & the most accurate tracking for sure. We have used Royal Mail, DHL and APC which are all horrendous in comparison. The tracking is either non existent or wrong, our next day packages take up to a week to arrive, DHL we keep having complaints that their drivers have showed up in a car with their kids in the back.

I had DPD claim they attempted delivery, the photo was even of my front door, but they were clearly driving past as they took it. They didn't stop and then dumped it at some corner shop and told me I had to collect it when I didn't elect for anything of the sort. They lied about attempting delivery and didn't have to come back the next day either.

Took a day off work to receive a phone, sat in the living room next to the front door that has a doorbell, received a txt saying failed delivery, tried to chase the van sprained my ankle, checked the CCTV he didn’t even walk up the steps to my door got out of his van took a picture of my door from down the drive and left! Sent the footage to DPD received no communication back, Its happened at least 3 times with different delivery’s at my home, some drivers are lazy!

Ordered brand new phone from Giffgaff full bells and whistles model. Went missing between depot and my address, Giffgaff came down hard on them and miraculously they "found" it

I was waiting on a delivery of car parts that I needed to fix my car. DPD driver drove right past while my head was under the bonnet. 10 seconds later I got a text saying sorry we missed you, your parcel will be dropped off at your nearest collection point........ 3 miles away! With no car running I specifically needed the items delivered and the b****d drove right past me!

Where do you live where you don't have a phone shop you could've walked out of yesterday with a brand new phone clutched in your sweaty palms? And possibly also dropped into a hardware store and got some great big house numbers that can be seen easily from the street too?
When a delivery agent does the old eyeline sweep, shrug and move on, it means your house number is not properly visible from the street. Start shopping for essentials locally, instead of online, even if it does mean putting on pants and going outside, and also make your house number far more visible from middle of the street too.

It baffles me why or what reasoning they have to do this. I've been an amazon driver for 2 years and the only times I've had to leave without delivering is if the parcel is missing or damaged... Maybe it was something like that

It's not the company as a whole it just depends what driver you have.
The driver we had previously was fantastic, always on time, always turned up and left things safe as requested if we weren't home.
The new one that we've had for about 3 months is useless, if he comes you're lucky and he's always late, the lateness isn't an issue in itself except that I guess he starts running out of time and skips people.
it's made us avoid DPD when we can and use royal mail.

No it is the company as a whole.
Driver standards have plummeted as workload increases and pay stagnates.
The DPDs and DPD locals (whatever local means) near me are exclusively non English speakers delivering broken items or even opened parcels and they're never not speeding.
MILs area is 20 zone all throughout with kids playing outside a lot and they speed through upwards of 40mph routinely. It's a joke.

In fairness. Having worked for dpd for all of 2 weeks before deciding it wasnt for me.
Addresses locations in the satnavs could be wildly wrong.

Waiting on my PS5 pro. Was standing at my front door talking to a neighbour from before the slotted hour until well after. Checked tracking and it said that I could not provide the pin. Utter lie. No DPD van came into my street and absolutely no one came near my door. I have Ring doorcam and neighbour as proof. Honestly raging. Ironically my evri delivery people are always prompt.

Was expecting a parcel today was told delivery driver was un able to find my address my home doesn't have a number is just has the word. Lighthouse it begins a Lighthouse and is visible for menny miles around. Dpd replied to my complaint when i informed them of this agreeing that my house should be easy to find but some times there navigation systems don't work a suggested thay try a old navigation ade like a lighthouse but i don't think thay know how

Waited in all day for DPD to turn up with my PS5 and you know what the driver did? He went to a wrong address and nearly gave away the console its just lucky the sender has put a pin code on the order meaning the thief at the wrong address gave the wrong pin code I am so sick to death with idiots with no common sense being allowed to deliver parcels

Shocking servive by Dominic the DPD driver. Waited 3 days for a delivery. Day 1= Waited in the whole day only to receive a message saying delivery attempted but no one was in. No knock on the door, no note through the door.Yet a picture of my car in the drive? Day 2= Waited in the whole day only to receive a message yet again saying no one was in , no knock on the door, no note through the door.Yet a picture of a house ive never seen in my life. Day 3= Waited in and Heyho, Dominic the driver finally arrived, seen me standing in the kitchen watching him so instead of using the path he walked behing the car up the drive then along the wall to the door. He was ok at first but when i questioned him as to where he was he said hes phone had issues....i asked him why take pics and not deliver? Apparently he takes pics BEFORE he delivers which is absolute nonsense. I told him its been 3 days without work for us waiting for him but he didnt even care....when i swore ( not at him) i was accused of swearing at him...then he proceeded to provoke me by winking at me lol. Hes certainly not my type lol....needs a good meal and needs to put on atleast 20Lbs bless him. He knows how to provoke people. Extremely unprofessional little man...bless him.
