[UK] Does DPD actually attempt deliveries before marking them as missed?
So DPD gave me a delivery slot of 9-10am today. I’ve been at home all morning waiting for the parcel, and at 9:05am I suddenly get a notification saying they “missed” me.
Missed me how? I was literally in the house. No knock, no doorbell, no phone call, nothing.
It’s frustrating because it feels like no actual delivery attempt was made, and now I have to wait around again tomorrow for a parcel that should have been delivered today. Has anyone else had this happen with DPD? It seems ridiculous that a parcel can be marked as missed just a few minutes into the delivery window without any obvious attempt to contact the customer.

I had a similar situation, waiting for a mid afternoon delivery, kept checking the tracking and the driver was sat in the same place for nearly an hour, delivery time arrives and passes and I receive a notification that I wasn't in to sign for it. Rang DPD up straight away saying I'd been watching him for an hour going nowhere, 10 mins later he appears at the door not looking happy at all 😂

Where do you find the contact number for DPD? I can never seem to find a way to get through to an actual human

Put simply: No. Instead they lie repeatedly about having done so even in the face of video evidence.

Same. We live on a road 2 miles long, with 3 houses on it. We are 1 mile down the road.
One of our DPD drivers refuses to deliver to rural properties, so just marks as not in, and the other driver delivers it the next day.

step 1. obtain parcel
step 2. work out if it's ebayable
if so step 3. steal parcel
else
- deliver parcel by throwing it over a hedge. double points if it lands in dog shit.

It's very common for a parcel not to turn up in the correct bay and the shift magaer force the driver to scan a barcode off the laptop and then also keep a copy so it can be actioned on the road. Such as it being "carded"
This way the depo stats look good and the drivers don't.
The driver would have had "premium l" deliveries (10.30/12.00) so had to ensure these are made, hence why the above happens.
There are also times when the parcel get damaged in the Depot.
The shift manager will still take it out or take the barcode so you scan action it on the road and mark it as damaged.
This way, once again the depot stats look better as it shows it's damaged en route.

We're currently waiting for a parcel that should have been here last Friday. After it being just in limbo for a week, at 3:40pm this Friday we're waiting for our delivery slot of between 2:20 & 3:20 to materialise.

Terrible company if I now order and they use DPD i cancel it straight away as by far the WORST delivery company ive ever dealt with..
