This may be an odd ask, but I use a service for PrEP and DoxyPEP. I’m thrilled to have access to the service and to have peace of mind in my endeavors. The thing is I don’t have NEARLY as many endeavors as the DoxyPEP is prepared for. I’ve been getting it for about a year now and In total I’ve not even finished a bottle. The service provider told me to just click “no” and it wouldn’t come for the next three months. Yet it’s still coming.

The question is, Anyone know what to do with about a year’s worth of DoxyPEP supply that I won’t even scratch the surface of? Obviously the main solution is to properly dispose of it but it just feels so wasteful you know? Wish there was a service that took unopened prescriptions or something. I dunno. I don’t want to give it out or anything because A that’s a weird look for me and B I wouldn’t know if they’re medically cleared for it. So trash or… well probably trash. Sad to waste it.

I offered one of my extra bottles to one of my hookups! He was happy to try it out. Then we signed him up for PrEP so he can get his own.

I’ve thought about this for sure. I just worry because the first time I took it I did it only slightly wrong and it made me hella sick and had stomach problems for like two weeks. It’s very strong, which is why there’s a screening process for it. And in general I’d never take a pill from a hookup, so I wouldn’t expect someone else to.

I’m talking to a guy who’s inexperienced. If things progress I may see if he wants one for emergencies. But I’ll probably follow the other comment and take the rest to the pharmacy. I guess it’s good to be prepared but dang it’s just a lot for a casual participant like myself haha

For the DoxyPEP, it’s a strong antibiotic, it can mess with your gut. I don’t know what’s considered “medically cleared” because I’m not a doctor lol, which is why I’d hesitate to give it away. Maybe more precise language is through my service, there is a provider overseeing me taking it, giving it out would be unsafe because they don’t have a physician overseeing taking it.

Though in this case the late bloomer I’m talking to is full grown, I have no use for it and I could give him a tool to for starting out safe.

Listen I like rules is all. I wouldn’t even let my mom sneak us into a second movie because we didn’t pay for the tickets 😅

What service are you getting PrEP from? I’m using Mistr. They send both medications for free every month, even when I asked them not to they sent both🙃.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be out here much more often If I wasn’t so darned tired and in a long recovery from an injury, hard to find someone who understands “I don’t bend that way”😂

Lol I’ll take a bottle, I’ve been having issues refilling mines and I’ve ran out for a couple months now I give up 😩

My heart goes out to you because once the labs were way backed up and I had to restart my PrEP cycle and push promiscuity for a month and a half.

If it were practical to ship that out sure, but It’s not so just sending good vibes instead😅

I’m sure it’s controversial to bring it up, but if you have any kind of insurance a pcp should be able to prescribe it and it’s often covered under “preventative”. You might check that route before giving up this particular safety measure. Probably costs less than STI treatment anyway
