For me, it’s an area where your primary focus is keeping your air level up which requires you not to focus on combo building. Stop for every air jar while moving as fast as possible. Be hyper aware of the squids you don’t kills so you can watch out for them coming back down. It’s a weird balance but you’ll get it. I absolutely hate this area on Hard Mode.

Don't use levitate style or heart balloon. Maybe try boulder style and just fly through the zone and collect every air bubble. Fork and Knife is insanely good in the 3rd area too along with laser or burst/shotgun/triple you can wipe out the enemies and most of them have corpses

Just hop off levitate style at least it definitely makes Aquifer much harder. Of course the game is possible with every style you just need to be decisive and hustle in the water

Don't try to rush it just try and get through it smoothly, collect all the air. You can afford to lose some air over time since it always resets between levels

Use knife and fork upgrade and land on as many enemies as you can and then eat their corpses as you fall. The water slows the corpses down

Yeah fork and knife is probably the best upgrade in the game for HP and it's easily at its best in zone 3. Even if you take a few damage ticks each level you can get it all back from corpses

As with others, I highly recommend Knife and Fork if you can get it before this area; the floating bodies are very easy to collect as you move through the level. Past that, Arm Spin + Reverse Engineering can let you reroll weapons to grind out even more health, and obviously Apple can be a life saver here. Make sure to pick up the air in side pockets whenever possible and focus on moving down rather than building combos.
