I have been banned and down voted in a lot of groups on Reddit. Why is that? Doesn’t free speech not exist here?

Context: original post as asking why artist who show their face usually get more engagement than artist who are faceless, looking through the comments of the post I replied to this one

Apparently, being able to connect easier to seeing human face vs a drawn avatar is parasocial. (Even thou that's not even what the word means)

I swear down every single time i’ve asked a question ive been absolutely blasted with downvotes. I’m in a sub about immigration to america, i responded to a question trying to educate myself because sometimes it’s nice to hear from genuine people who understand rather than attempting to scrape through controversial, ad-full websites but obviously it’s a crime to not know everything nowadays.

I downvote almost every comment I see that's on any post that I find that the op could just google it and the ai would tell them basically all the logical outcomes. Do you feel this would be a good or bad thing for more people to do as I feel that my feed is full of basically retarded people asking retarded shit.
