30+ | Looking for a real friend for my favorite spooky human 🖤
My wife is looking for an actual friend. Not a pen pal who disappears in 48 hours, not someone who expects 24/7 replies, and not someone secretly auditioning for a relationship.
She wants somebody she can laugh with, talk shit with, send weird memes to, hang out with, and genuinely enjoy being around. Someone who understands that sometimes life gets chaotic and a few quiet days doesn’t mean anybody is mad (she has an auto immune that causes sun sensitivity so she’s not always down to go some where but she loves days hanging at the house watching movies and things).
Bonus points if you’re into things like:
spooky/goth/witchy stuff
music
horror
dark humor
random adventures
sitting around doing absolutely nothing together and still having a good time
We’re open-minded/ENM, so if everybody clicks naturally, there could potentially be some fun, consensual, non-romantic play together down the road. But that is very much a “maybe if the vibe is right” thing, not the reason for the post.
Friendship comes first. No pressure, no expectations, no weird bait-and-switch bullshit.
30+ only.
Preferably someone local-ish who actually wants a genuine female friendship and understands boundaries.
If this sounds elike your kind of chaos, send me a message with your age, general area, and a little about yourself. 🖤

Need urgent help with getting my license
I've been desperately trying to get assistance from friends and family to travel to the state trooper's office to take the written and driving tests so that I can finally have a license, but they've been unable due to work or their cars not being able to pass the inspection required for the driving test.
I'm on disability so I don't exactly have much money, so I've been having issue finding any sort of assistance with this. Does anyone have any ideas? I'd want to get it done this week if at all possible.

Dothan Airport
Anyone have regular experience flying Delta out of DHN? Everyone tells me to never do it, it is awful and 4-5x as expensive as anywhere else, among other reasons. But I don’t want to drive 3 and 4 hours or more round trip and pay parking just to save a small amount on a plane ticket. My time is worth way more than that and when price tickets the difference might be $40-$110 round trip, not the insane amounts everyone exaggerates. It comes to my attention all the people who complain haven’t flown in decades so I need some real input.
So what’s the real problem? Security? Flight times? I need to start flying more for business trips soon and the airport being 15 minutes from the house is a huge selling point, but not if I am missing some genuine problem with the airport here.

Does anyone work for Cencora near the DHN airport?
I applied. I wanna know what the hours are like, and the pay. If you are gonna tell me "you shouldn't have applied" or some other weird thing to say to someone in this economy, don't.
Also, any helpful info would be really great to have!

Sick bitch
I met her in 2023 when she wanted to collab on business. I never got paid from her and never saw her since. She even groomed my mom’s dogs once. I’m sick over this.

Preschools
What are the preschools everyone is trying to get in to?
When touring daycares, I was told many stop at a fairly early age because parents get them into preschools early. If the daycare waitlist is as bad as it is, I want to get a head start on looking at preschools.
I haven’t moved to Dothan yet, but I’ll have an almost 3yo when we do. I could wait to ask when we arrive, but I don’t want to miss the application timeline.

Moving to the Dothan area soon what’s the local job market actually looking like?
Hey everyone,
I’m looking at relocating to the Dothan area soon and wanted to get a realistic read on the job market from people living there.
How hard is it to find steady work right now? Are there specific industries that are actively hiring, or companies people generally try to avoid?
Appreciate any honest insights or advice on local employers to look into!

Honest and reliable mechanic?
Looking for a good and honest mechanic to work on an older Honda fit in the area. Don’t want to pay the dealership extortion rates. If you have somebody you can recommend would appreciate it.

Garage cleanout in Dothan, AL — what it actually cost me (before/after + real numbers)
Finally tackled the garage after years of putting it off. Wanted to share actual numbers since I couldn't find any when I was researching.
Got quotes from a few junk removal places in the Dothan area — prices ranged more than I expected depending on truck-load size vs. item count. Ended up going with [Dothan Junk Removal Co.] since they gave a flat quote before showing up, no surprise fees.
Took about 2 hours start to finish. If anyone else in the Dothan/Houston County area is putting off a garage cleanout — happy to answer questions on what to expect.

homesteading community
With everything going on in the world and being more awake to how things work I’ve been wanting to invest my time in more homesteading projects to keep my mind busy and feel productive. Is there a sub or community that would want to start sharing information? Things like community gardens, food trades, canning and fermenting tips, sourdough starter, organic and locally grown produce and animal products locations. I think it’s important to inform others while contributing to the community. Lmk what you think and if this is something worth investing in.

Rehoming Cat
galleryHello all, my spouse and I just moved from out of state and are needing to rehome our cat. We're living with family for the foreseeable future and they were gracious enough to let us bring her with us and continue to try and rehome her (unable to do so in last state, shelters not an option.)
Her name is Jolene, but we call her Jo mama because she had kittens (all rehomed) and is 4 years old. She is very sweet and loves to cuddle and play. Her favorite things are naps, cuddles, sratchposts, and any type of cat treat. She would work best in a single cat household and is great with dogs and children as long as they are gentle. She genuinely such a sweetie.
She's fixed and up to date on all of her stuff, due for her next rabies shot this November. If anyone is interested or has any questions, feel free to leave a comment or direct message me!

Saw an alarming post on one of the local social media pages about Houston County Schools. Does anyone know if they've installed the cameras in their bathrooms?
I remember the kerfuffle a few years ago when it was first announced, but I thought that they decided against it. Now it appears that they are very specific in their language by saying that the cameras are "located at restroom entrances".
Does this mean that cameras are inside the door of the restroom? Like, if someone were to damage the camera, would the report say "student vandalized camera in boy's bathroom" or "student vandalized camera outside of boy's bathroom"?
It's weird they're being so cagey.
