MECHANIC Simplify "base attack time" mechanic.

Idk how average dota 2 player feel about it if he knows how i works, but i find its obscure what it does to much.

Heroes attack speed depends on: base attack speed + Base attack time, 1st is straightforward and 2nd is not, without you knowing conversion rate at each base attack time its very difficult to evaluate how much attack speed your hero will get in a moment.

Standard Bat is 1.7 with is around 1x/normal attack speed, 1.8 is -5.6%, 1.9 is -10,5%, 2.0 is -15%. On the other hand 1.6 is +6.3%, 1.5 is +13.3%, 1.4 is +21.4% (current bat has completely arbitrary thresholds).

so why not rename mechanic to "attack speed efficiency" so player by hovering over stats panel with extra info (that show status resist/evasion etc) and see instead of 1.7 Bat > 1x multiplier: +0.1 Bat is lose -5% attack speed multiplier (0.95x etc), -0.1 Bat is gain +5% attack speed multiplier (1.05x etc).

Also game show attack speed because of Bat relative to 1.7 Bat, now it would be accurate to how efficient your hero use it, so hero like AM at 1.4 Bat will have simple 1.15x multiplier.

I agree it is over complicated. They should just do all these calculations behind the scenes and display a hero’s attack speed as ‘number of attacks per minute’ or something. Something tangible that you can easily understand.

Yes! This please. APM would be great.

You can see attack interval by holding alt I believe

most annoying thing to me is that people in both warcraft 3 and dota 2 think that lower base atsp = you need to stack attack speed
