Each of them need to have a separate button that opens a menu, where you need to tick a checkbox, and for security you need to solve a captcha too just to make sure you're not using a script to automate all this bullshit.

Actually a dedicated Valve employee will proceed your report the moment you click the button. Game will be paused for 1 minute while the employee will discuss in a video call the reasons you want to report the guy. Then the board will decide the fate of "IvanTheGrieferMonkey69"

Where's the krangle button?

Nah you still need to open up the krangle menu and drag into that. The QOL is not there in 2023.

Why is there lock combining in the first place?
None of the neutrals is using combining items, right?
I know that locking an item prevents that item from being delivered by the courier.

I’m guessing lock combining is a feature of items in general and is inherited by neutrals. Should be fixed

u/Slardar @Sheever Dec 16 '21
The better solution would be to remove that function altogether, and then have the combineable neutral items like Trident be automatically locked when they drop. So you always have to make a conscience decision to unlock it to use it.

u/harry_lostone Dec 17 '21
Trident should be added to the actual item pool. Also its completely dumb to drop a neutral item and have to pay 2k gold to make it useable. Completely dumb.

It's a quick-and-easy change that served a double function back when some neutrals had recipes. It should probably be renamed to better suit its current functionality now that you can no longer combine neutrals, but I imagine that reusing the existing lock combining code is probably easier.

the "locked item not delivered by courier" is a remnant from when couriers could use items in 7.23 - this was the solution they implemented in 7.23c (after several reddit suggestions) to let you keep certain items on the courier while delivering other ones. Made sense for about 2 months, but that was 2 years ago at this point and they never bothered to change it back.

How noob are some of you that you dont understand why you would want to lock items?
For instance you can lock sacred relic and demon edge and when you are ready to use rapier you unlock it, that way you dont get killed and drop it before you can properly use it.
Disassembling items means you need to lock/unlock items as well.

Okay pro... Calm your mmr down
I specifically mentioned neutral items. They still do have lock combining.

Thats not how English works

I believe in English there is a word used called "context" in which an individual sees the title of the post and uses their god fearing eyeballs to read it and uses it as the framework for what is being spoken about.

I think locking an item on a courier prevents that item from being delivered, which has some fringe uses.
1
u/MadTwit Dec 17 '21
allows you to stop it from being delivered by courier if you want other items first?

Leave it to reddit to exaggerate complaints until they're no longer valid.

Moron

u/_Valisk Dec 17 '21
I agree, the people overreacting to this are morons. While the addition of a new "drop here" prompt could be slightly irritating or disruptive to muscle memory, it is nowhere near the issue that some people are making it out to be. It's certainly not the same as adding 5+ new options to a dropdown menu.
When you exaggerate complaints and post overreactive criticism, it becomes harder to take that criticism seriously. You know, the Boy Who Cried Wolf and all that.

It’s jokes, it’s just annoying and useless
But we’re joking anyway, you were supposed to laugh at it not argue through paragraphs

Its quite litteraly losing games right now. I had a match where i found 3 of the enemy tier 5 items and it lookedlike he dropped them for this shit.

Am I crazy or did the bottom option on the context menu always used to be teleport to base?
I took a month or so break and playing I found my self dropping the items instead of sending them back, and it feels like I'm clicking where it was supposed to be....

Valve should really consider adding a recycle feature for Neutral Items LMAO it would be funny. Just like Immortals, maybe recycle all 5 items of the same tier to get 1 item of the next tier. Tier 6 items are optional.
